so.. what you're implying is that, within reasonable doubt,
Spinoza stole all his ideas from a young unknown man
affectionally called "Revqvist" by his friends? Interesting
theory...

but still: no-one knows how to make "metallic
sine-wave-sound"-ish sounds like the one in mt.st.mchls?

Unquestionably. I am afraid I cannot help you with
recreating this sound, I am rubbish when it comes to things
like that. Normally I spend hours messing around with loads
of things until I can get something quite similar sounding
then tweak it from there.

I've made a synth in Reaktor called "Sonorous" (after the
sound that metal makes when struck) that is good for
metallic/industrial sounds. Doesn't sound much like the
MSM/SMM ones though, unfortunately.

hmm.. I like the way Reaktor looks. I may have to acquire
it.

i've always imagined those sounds as being made from some
looped segment of a distorted guitar or vibraphone or
something. I've tried distorting a sine-wave, but it doesn't
work.

i used to play around with sine like synths allot before..

the key is not in the effekts or the sound im sure.. id say
it's in the way you put it out, the attack/delay/sustain and
so on, combining that with putting the sound the right way
in the song would be my guess on how u could come as close
as possible to that sound, but offcourse it helps if the
synth is similar sounding..

i could give you some better tips if i only had the druqks
cd here with me but i dont.

maybe ill post again here tommorow incase i come up with an
idea of how to do it.

Hopefully some nice guy will come up with an way for you
before that.

good luck, good day!
