poor incunabula,... loosing the ae battle,.. this is
perhaps the most underratted of autechre albums I think,...
being a huge fan of old school pioneering electronica, this
easily hits as one of my favourites,.. I think it is the
most diverse of the autechre albums, every other ae albums
seems to have a theme, this one is like an all out bout
between rob, sean and their computers,.. suddel tracks like
bike and autriche distract me form the ever present and
"kick my arse on the floor" basscadet, a ture test of any
sound speakers treble AND bass, and OMFG "EGG!!!!" what a
track, doctrine yet again canes, and soon after maetl and
444 rein supreme and remind you just why you like
autechre,....

many of you may think this release pales in comparison to
their later stuff,... but it's something completely
different altogether in my opinion, truly raw emotional
experiments in sound,

I for one,.. vote incunabula,

Matt.
Refund.

I think it must be difficult to appreciate Incunabula if you
first heard Autechre from their later period, it must sound
like several steps back. But if you heard it when it came
out, you might think better of it.

I think it's a class album, it's the blueprint Autechre
sound that remains the melodic backbone that keeps the newer
material from just being dry academic exercises in sound.

I love newschool glitchcore and oldschool rawsynthcore as
much as each other,... they are 2 different things to me...
and I love them both

I voted for Tri R. But Incunabula is really good. Perhaps
the album with the best melodies. But it can't be compared
to other Ae-stuff when it comes to complexity and
"experimentality" (is that a word?)

My favorite AE album as well Refund. There's a few of us on
the board that seem to appreciate early 90's electronic
music over today's. 444 is an amazing tune. It's AE's
best, and it's in my top 5 favorite songs of all time.

I think if we can vote like this

1st)3 points
2nd)2 points
3th)1 point

the score would be much different...

I am going to put my nob on the table and boldly declare
that I "appreciate early 90's electronic music over
today's".

I feel better now.

i started my adventure with IDM from that album.
i think everyone should do the same - Kalpol Introl + Bike
are the best opening tracks of the universe.
