Yes, but a centipede is very aggressive (read fucking hostile) whereas those bigass spiders generally don't harm humans if you handle with care.
This thread reminds me of that disgusting pic of some huge australian spider hiding behind a clock that was posted here some time back.

I wish, but the search function doesn't function and browsing through this endless array of topics isn't an option :(

"Why does God allow such monstrosities to exist?"
HAHAHA!
"He was recently bitten by a camel spider which was hiding in his sleeping bag."
Holy fuck man, I would instantly grow breast at that very moment, find the nearest chair, stand on it and scream for my husband to kill it.
This thread is seriously making me squirm though.

An illegal exotic pet store near me had one of those in a tank. Evil looking thing, it cost £75 too.
Giginger, re: Really big spider like things, you get these massive crabs with really spindly limbs that are about 2 1/2 foot in diameter... they're pretty scary.

octopuses are supposed to be very very intelligent
and they're certainly cool
i saw in a documentary in school once, some footage of an octopus that walks up onto the beach at night, for a few minutes at a time, and snatches little land-animals
its true..... insane but true......

Could've sworn seeing another pic of that spider behind the clock where a third pair of legs sticking out top and bottom of the entire length of the clock. Kinda gives you an idea how big this mama is really. Somebody said it was a huntsman spider but apparently the markings didnt fit.

I used to work in the fruit and veg dept aswell, but in tesco. The amount of spiders I found in the banana boxes was insane, the best one i found had black and white stripes on its arse. It was around 1.5 inches and could jump. I didnt fancy going near it so I let it run off. Last saw it heading towards the Kiwi's.
There was this one guy in the packing depot who got bitten on the face by a massive bastard thing. They sent out warnings to all the stores in the area about it. Thats how i ended up on banana duty coz i was only 16 and had the least experience.
My boss was a right tosspot.
ok im done

Yeah, I was looking into them last night, and it seems Peru has banned the export of them. "Perivian Giant Centipedes" It would be a hardcore pet.
