this is what i read from an aphex forum in audiogalaxy.com: "recently i got a cd in the mail that said best of Aphex twin. Since i am involved with rephlex i get free stuff ocastionally. it had a note with it that read RDJ will be releasing a 2 disc best of cd in late 2002. It said he chose his fave tracks for the cd. the track listing is...... 1. Vordhosbn, 2. Fingerbib, 3. Flim, 4. if it really is me, 5. blur, 6. Omgyjya switch 7, 7. Alberto balsalm, 8. Come to daddy pappy mix, 9. domino, 10. Come on you slags, 11. girl/boy song, 12. Jynweythek ylow, 13. curtains, 14. Bucephalus Bouncing ball, DISC 2..... 1. Milkman, 2. Audax Powder, 3. rhubarb, 4. Sounds a bit suspect (but I like the selection a lot...)... But... it could be a way for RDJ to get himself out of the SIRE contract that he's mentioned as being a problem recently...I know he wants to release stuff as "Aphex Twin" and WARP have been ok about letting him go but SIRE are not happy; not sure about how these contracts work but it would seem they are "owed" some additional releases & won't let him go until these obligations are fulfilled...so this could be an easy way out for RDJ... Personally, I'd prefer to get a decent (from the Sounddesk) LIVE recording of Aphex...all the ones I have are pretty shite quality (due to additional noise, audience etc..)... |

His live shows are identical to the albums, it's the noise of the crowd that makes it "live"! It's preprogrammed electronic music! Oh sure, he tweaks his tracks a bit, but why not just release altered versions of those? |
