said.

i'm not sure of what you mean by 'quirky'... o_O

anyway Plaid aren't that dark, except maybe some stuff off
Not For Threes and some other off Spokes. (not full albums
though, there are also a malibu-happy-happy-tropical one in
each of these albums among others) Not For Threes is my
favourite album by them, 'tis very good. and varied too. and
including collaborations with Björk among others...

(there are two versions of Not For Threes btw, one with Ol
and one with Undoneson and Spudink - i have the 2nd one,
haven't heard Ol but Spudink is a really beautiful ending,
and definitely one of the best off te album...)

oh, also it's not really Plaid but it's kinda affiliated -
check out 'Bytes' by The Black Dog, it's great. better than
Plaid in general.

Squarepusher isn't that dark either in general, except some
tracks again - i'd recommend Music Is Rotted One Note, which
is a great album, probably the "darker" too - very special,
and closer to jazz than idm too. Ultravisitor is pretty
great as well, but no darkness. and if you want intense, Go
Plastic can be pretty intense if you're in the mood! (if
you're not, it can be exhausting or boring, with all the
noisy mess of wild beats)

the title of this topic was of very bad taste by the way =(

what's happening to them is terrible.... i really hope
they'll be saved...

happy cycling > i think it was this guy who was painting
cats all the time, and he became mad - but continued to
paint cats... and as he was getting madder and madder, the
cats were getting weirder and weirder... a bit like
kaleidoscope pictures...
