When did this happen? I just got mine replacd via
insurance, and the new one is completely silent, no more
shitty fan noise during dvds and games

I don't have a ps2... but silent machines are great!
can't stand noise (but yet, I keep my puter on several hours
/ day).

it won't be like that for long, unless sony has somehow
magically upgraded the hardware on shelves around the
world.

mine was silent when i first got it - its later on that it
makes noise, lest you take very good care of it.
