Future Sound Of London

Holyver on 2001-12-26 00:46 [#00064080]

I saw Woofer mentioned the FSOL-album Dead Cities in the
topic about the best Autechre-album. Dead Cities is still
one of the best albums i've ever heard, so i'd like to
know:is the Future Sound Of London still alive?!? Will they
ever make music again, or perform live etc. ?
I've been looking everywhere for some news about them...

buy Lifeforms and pretend i't's a brand new album. you can
do this with a group like FSOL because their music is almost
timeless. if you already own Lifeforms: i am sorry, you will
probably never hear new music from them again.

theyre coming back real soon apparently..
theyre going to release an album under their amorphous
androgynous alias next year..supposedly its going to be more
of a psychadelic album...with some acoustic guitars and
lyrics..

Yes, Gloomm, I already own it (and pretty much I've ever
found from them)...

Where did you get that information, Wayout? Sounds Great!

As a matter of fact they just recently released a remix ep.
Or just did a remix for someone that just got released. They
are also heavily into their online work, and their website
is frequently maintained (you can hear a taste of the kind
of stuff their thinking of on their. Its not a site, its a
cave)

I think its www.futuresoundoflondon.com or www.fsol.com or
net or something like that

actually, they released PNG Translations, different versions
of papua new guinea...its a mini album..pretty chilled shit
too.

Taxi on 2001-12-26 20:37 [#00064180]

That was another thing. The remix thing I was talking
about... was a little bit earlier than the papa new guinea.
Barely anyone has heard about it. But its out there. Don't
know how limited the pressing is or anything like that tho.

they did an interview with mixer magazine last month..pretty
informative...they even give an explanation as to where
they've been..
you might be able to find it at mixer's website..or a fsol
fansite..

FSOL are really greats!
I have ISDN, LIFE FORMS and DEAD CITIES but my fav cd is the

I find ISDN and LIFE FORMS very similars but Dead Cities is
a masterpiece!

Dunno what the structure is, but i've seen them do ac ouple
of DJ sets this summer at the big chill, Not quite the album
or 'proper' live FSOL but pretty nice sets, very, um, whats
the word - oh yes - eclectic!
