They briefly mention one really nasty and often forgotten part of the story, which is the systematic destruction of most of warsaw by the Nazi's special demolition crews, which were employed specifically because the Nazis were aware of the turning tide. The site's destruction estimate of 80% was a little surprising for me, however--I had heard it was 95% (following the work of the aforementioned demoltion teams). I was born in poland so that's one reason why I know this stuff. An aunt of mine actually runs tours through warsaw... I really hate it when war documents say 'German' rather than 'Nazi'. I mean in some contexts sure but in an internet document I worry that it will further promote senseless hate... |

remember about polish-german history: 123 years of dependence of 1/3 Poland and Bismarcks germanization before WW I - thats why in polish documents appears germans (but in polish history books there is hitler's germany) |
