Okay so my buddy told me about this band 'The End'. Their latest release is called Within Dividia and it's fucking brilliant. To top it off, they're from just outside of Toronto (Brampton).
So I went on amazon and the reviews said something about these guys being kings of 'mathcore'. Does anyone else know any 'mathcore' bands? What do you guys think of 'The End'?
If you like hardcore/speed metal - check it.

1) Yeah I love Converge. Saw them live last year - that bass player has got to be one of the nicest people in the world. So kind.
2) Before posting I searched 'mathcore' not math-core - so sorry if I fucked up.
Dillenger Escape Plan it is...

I had no idea that Dillinger Escape Plan and Meshuggah were termed Mathcore. It sounds like bog standard Metal to me.
Anal Cunt did a track called "Anyone Who Likes The Dillinger Escape Plan is a Faggot". I wouldn't agree, but it's not my bag.

thethirdball:: yes.. check out their cd "truth beyond", for some technical death metal.
japes::: Anal Cunt rules!!! I hate Dillinger Escape Plan. I dont like that sound they have to them at all. Personally I think its hurting, but I dont think people who listen to them are gay. Its just funny.

Here's the "math rock" topic from a week or two ago
Anyway, I think The End kick ass. I actually booked them to play at my college and they did a show here on March 25th. It was fucking great, and they were really nice guys. I hung out with the bassist and singer for a long time afterwards and they were really down to earth. Yeah, fucking cool band.

Ok, I'm a big fan of grind, crust, and what-have-you, but Anal Cunt just makes bad music, imo. The only thing they've ever released that I enjoy is their "5,643 Song EP," and that's just because the noise of 16 (I think) songs playing simultaneously is really interesting, not because I find the concept funny or because they write good songs, because they don't. AC is a joke, and the only funny part about it is their song titles.
Have you heard The End's new record? It's less chaotic than their EP and they stray into slightly more traditional songwriting structures, but the record is not traditional at all. It took a while to grow on me, but now I consider it a really strong metal/hardcore record. Check out the track "Organelle" before making your final judgment.
