go plastic

nene on 2001-12-25 20:43 [#00064036]

go plastic go plastic go plastic!
and additional go plastic!
I do like drukqs, but it doesn't tread any new ground,
whereas go plastic treads miles with each passing minute.
exhilarating, frustrating and beautiful!

J198 from The Neverlands on 2001-12-25 22:00 [#00064058]

i dont know where the hell you people get the idea to
compare those 2 albums but one thing is for sure: go plastic
is fun, but compared to drukqs it really does sound like
jenkinson was just dropping anvils on his keyboard (cept for
track 1 and 10, the best tracks) while richard has been
composing his album with all the patience of the world. and
the difference is this: i got bored with go plastic after
hearing it 3 times, drukqs wont be boring after 300 times.

nene on 2001-12-25 22:50 [#00064063]

j198: give the album a couple more listens and maybe you'll
catch on. you just have to appreciate the playfullness not
only in the rhythms and sounds, but in the song structure
itself. and unlike drukqs, it never takes itself too
seriously.

J198 on 2001-12-26 00:03 [#00064068]

Ok. you're right. go plastic is a good album and i do still
like it but i'm just sick and tired of people whining about
drukqs being disappointing. nice review by the way

FreakyNinoBrown from hungover on 2001-12-26 00:15 [#00064072]

how can you even compare?...do you smoke rock?...they are 2
totally different albums by two different people...noone can
be "better"...jesus...this sounds like some highschool shit

Archrival on 2001-12-26 00:35 [#00064078]

Ofcourse you can compare these two albums.

I can compare Nas and Mobb Deeps latest and I think Nas
latest is better.

Archrival on 2001-12-26 00:38 [#00064079]

I think Drukqks is a "better" (I listen to it and like it
more than Go Plastic) album .

I still thinks that Go Plastic is a HELL OF A DOPE ASS ALBUM
and kicks a lot of these crap albums straight up the ass
(love it a lot).

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-12-26 06:25 [#00064110]

Go Plastic has some bretty funky beats but its nothing
groundbreaking...you gotta love go spastic tho

drukqs is richard d. fucking james doing what he does
best...they're incomparable...

j198... no love for the Exploding Psychology? I can't get
over the evolution of this track from beginning to end.
Can't compare though, as I've only heard bits of Druqks.

John john from Sweden on 2001-12-26 11:53 [#00064142]

Exploding Psychology is one of my alltime
favourites!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a bunch of quotes by chris clark that I think are on
topic.

“When I was seven I used to divide my emotions up into
percentages to decide which ones were the best. After a year
of pie charts I got pissed off with this. I've hated maths
ever since.”

“I've always thought music was wicked...”

“I grew up on Prince. Used to bust moves to it on my lawn
in the summer. I think my music sounds a lot like Prince’s
music. No-one else does but I don't really care that much
about what other people think. Although I do care a little
bit I suppose. I care about 5.34 per cent.”

“My Mum has always been a bit baffled by me. She'd often
freak out when she'd find me strumming my harp in a cave in
Wales near Criccieth where we used to go on holiday, and
she'd try and scare me with stories about the Pied Piper Of
Hamlin.”

“I never really had lessons on the harp. But I've never
really enjoyed lessons in anything. My drum teacher told me
that if I bought a drum machine then he would give up all
hope in the development of my talent and musical ability. I
bought a drum machine quite soon after he said that.”

“I currently play the harp, flute and the fiddle. My
composition "Lord Of The Dance" is the first and last piece
that incorporates my flute playing into a more computer
orientated environment. Computers are useful, but not that
useful. I discovered this when I was 15. Before I was
fifteen I played the drums very loudly in punk bands. I was
usually too pissed to keep time properly.”

Plastow Flex Out kix every other trax ass on all three of
those cds. Only squarepusher track that has given me a
conflicted emotional response; "Am I sad? Am I really
relaxed? I am so confused!"
