fruityloops whats the problem ?

awt from sweden on 2001-12-23 22:43 [#00063790]

hey. I have seen allot of you guys talk about how you should
download the demo. I would like to say .Get directconnect.
The demo is nothing usefull if you wanto create some fun
music.
The full version is no problem att all finding at dc.
Id like to say that fruity is realy a good program for
making any kind of music.
I have been using it for over a year now.

so dont play with the demo if you can play with the full fat
fucking version.

i thought the only difference between the demo and full
version was you couldnt save in the demo.

If you wanna do something seriosly SAVING is kind of
important isnt it?
I have about 300 files in flp format in my computer right
now.
And Ill sure need them.
As I see it you need to listen to your songs allot to hear
whats wrong and whats good.
And when u find out whats not good you just go and change
it.

I think thats pretty important.
But ok if you wanna create something shitti that you will
toss a couple of days after you made it.

you can't save it to harddisk but you could run it through
Reason (dunno if demo version comes w/ ReWire) and then save
it in Reason OR just have a line running out of your audio
card into something like a DAT recorder or whatever.. :)

but if you have a cable/dsl connection.. d/l the full
version...

i make my song and record it with cool edit pro, so saving
isn't important to me. i dont do enough with drums to
really care all to much about changing afterwards.

what is a dat recorder, i have been wondering that for quite
awhile now.

awt from sweden on 2001-12-24 00:05 [#00063812]

noo but if you have about 300 songs/remixes/combinations
then you need to go back and change.
I have great demands on myself so i have to change every
little shitty sound that doesnt sound like i wanto.
I do understand if you think its unnesesary with the full
version.
But its bether for a guy like me.
And it feels bether to have the full version.

anyway good luck

yeah I downloaded the full version last night, but with
Morpheus... it's a cool program, I've wanted something like
this for ages...

awt from sweden on 2001-12-24 00:34 [#00063818]

hehe yeah its a cool program isnt it?

In a couple of weeks ill proberly have a site up where you
can download a couple of my songs.
If youre a beginer i garenty youll be suprised how
fuctup(good I think) music i have created
with just fruity.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-24 00:53 [#00063822]

diqi, thanks for the link! that answered all of my
questions.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-24 01:02 [#00063823]

I have a pretty cool little tune already... it's simple, but
sounds cool...

awt from sweden on 2001-12-24 01:10 [#00063824]

yeah its kind of simple to get that first regular cool
sound.
But dont stop at that.
Try to freakout a bit and my advice to you is.

Fight with the shit utill you get exactly the sound you
want.
Thats the only way to realy learn allot about the program.
If you ever put your sound out Ill be happy to listen to
it.
It would be kinda fun to hear some other peoples fruity
music.
All i have ever heard from fruity is my friends work. And
hes a rock lover.
And ill say dont try making a regular rock sound with
fruity. and that friend is kinda anti freakout music like
aphextwin.
So he wont even listen to the music i have made (he can go
fuckhimself)
I hope some of you guys will listen to some of my songs when
I have made a page thats good enough.

I have a question though, is there any way to copy your
pattern things including your piano role thingys? Cause I
have a little tune, like 4 patterns long, and I'd like to
copy that once, and then add something else you get my
drift?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-24 01:19 [#00063826]

or another question, is there any way to set it to repeat a
certain portion so many times, so you wouldn't have to copy
it...

awt from sweden on 2001-12-24 01:23 [#00063827]

sorry. I have been looking into that problem abit too.
You simly haveto remember and look back if you dont.
But look at it the positiv way, you will learn the
tune/melody system bether.
And you train your memory.
+ if you wanto add another sound for the tune you can
variate it easier and you wont get lazy.
Thats kind of important.
No system thinking while making music (I say)

awt from sweden on 2001-12-24 01:27 [#00063828]

you will get used to it.
You know copying by hand.

Its bether I think.

I realy dont wanna make any (to reapeting) melodys and drum
combinations so im fine with copying by hand.

If you variate your songs allot they will last allot
longer.
You know how some melodys can bore you to fucking death.
