I'm a fan of Team Doyobi, and I assume their work is best
described as glitch....................can anyone recommend
me any other artists?

releases, there's loads of goodness in there. download the
Mask series to see what you like..

Cool...........I thought the mask series was older stuff
(could be wrong).....anything more contemporary?

Never heard Team Doyobi, but maybe you would be interested
in Kiyo from Schematic.

'merck' label and 'morr music' maybe they have something
nice... I'll have a think of some things... I'm crap with
remembering titles...

glitch wouldn't be the first word that comes to mind for me
when describing Team Doyobi.... team doyobi is... well
Skam... i've always kind of thought of Skam as it's own
style... things that strike me as things you might like if
you like Team Doyobi (other than other SKam stuff... and
admittedly, Doyobi has less in common with most skam than
say something like Quinoline Yellow or Meam...) would be
perhaps:
Aelters
Dat Politics
Otto Von Schirach (maybe...?)
Secret Mommy
stuff on Tigerbeat (but please be weary, because most of it
sucks ass)
Two Lone Swordsman
FX Randomiz

Isn't Phillip Jeck a glitch artist? Team Doyobi are more
like video gamey idm to my ears...

i've heard a lot of things get called glitch... but never
philip jeck... to me glitch is these guys these guys
these guys some of these guys
possibly these guys... and others...

basically just lots of very digitally techno with digital
glitches used as instrumentation...
i can see how Jeck would be called glitch, because he works
with what sound like glitches... but it's all analog.. vinyl
manipulation... he's an experimental turntablist... could be
called experimental ambient... he's fuckin wicked...

Team Doyobi has glitch elements... but it doesn't really
strike me as glitch either

it's fun to talk about musical dichotomies that don't really
matter.... makes me happy

"oval" is the glitch bitch. Uses skipping cd sounds to build
rhytmns and melodies. If thats not glitch without a hitch, i
don't know what is!

Phoenecia's "brownout" album is glitchtastic too
(Schematic)

At first I thought music by artists such as richard devine
was called glitch, but then morstro x gave a definition of
the term "glitch":like the cd is skipping. I think many
things could fall under that category and at the end of the
day it is pretty subjective... For example I for one would
never call "the blurring of trees" neither "brownout" a
glitch album, only parts of it. Anyway I have a lot of music
to check out now.

i think richard devine qualifies... for reasons similar to
what mortso gives... the difference between that and philip
jeck, is that philip jeck gets his sounds from lock grooves
on vinyl, not digital glitches... you can do this at home
children... just take ten inches and seven inches and stick
them on top of twelve inches... thus making lock grooves in
the middle of vinyl... or just run your turntable through a
delay pedal... woo

Go to Allmusic and search->genre->Glitch. You will fin
definitions and recommendations. My favourite glitch-artist
is Oval. But he very experimental compared to Team D.
