Recording Quality?

Does the quality of a recording affect your opinion on it?
If something (that even was good quality for it's time) was
redone or remastered would it affect your opinion on it? For
instance, the RDJ album kind of does this to me. I mean I
like it, the music is good, but I wish the quality was
better.

That's like with SAW I, Some of the tracks are pretty bad
quality, but I guess that's part of the charm. It would
sound odd if it were remastered.

I know the perfect album that comes to mind, this artist
called lycia, i have one of their cds and it sounds like it
was recorded by a monkey with a tape recorder, if it was
produced better the cd would be 10x sweeter.

I don't know, man. If it was sleek & polished, It wouldn't
have the same effect.

that reminds me of a famous Phil collins quote,

"It's mine and I'll wash it as fast as I want."

; )

it's true though..mistakes/overlooked in recordings make or
break some tracks. Most of my favourite tracks have some
extreme quality that differenceates them from the 'norm'.
