by far Propellerhead's Reason owns Acid Pro/Radar/Fruity
Loops... who else here uses it? I just bought it about two
weeks ago and already made better songs than I ever could w/
the other muzick software on the market.. you can tweak so
much more w/ Reason...

err i meant Sonar, not Radar.. :p

Reason is good, realy good. but i feel that i can make more
fucked-up and weird stuff with fruityloops.. Think Reason is
more for mainstream music. But ofcourse you can make
experimental music with it.

yea.. i've made some extremly experimental sounds... PLUS i
like the feature of ReWire w/ Reason so if i did want to mix
sounds i can just wire Fruityloops/Acid Pro straight into
Reason.. :)

I'm using reason right now! great program, but expensive...I
have a bootleg copy :)

i downloaded the demo of reason a while ago. i couldnt
figure a thing out. couldnt even program a simple beat into
the fucking thing. i dont think it is user friendly enough
for me to waste my time with it.

Whats the sequencer part like???

If it was vst compatible THAT would be something!!!

digidogheadlock from under a rock on 2001-12-24 00:00 [#00063808]

its not really meant to be user friendly.. its all about
features and is spose to be as close to hardware as software
can be... the full version came w/ like 6 demo songs.. so at
first i just opened them up one at a time and tweaked them
to get an idea of how things worked... after about 2 days i
was making my own muzick from skratch...

when you run Reason for the first time, you have to set-up
your audio driver.. Edit>>Preference... then go to Page:
Audio and pick Primary sound driver.. it took me awhile to
figure that much out.. heh.. then just open up a demo song
or start off tweaking w/ the Matrix sequencer and Subtractor
synth.. you can make a decent beat and pattern w/ just those
two tools... i dunno how the demo version is set-up so it
might not have them included...

oh, and i believe it is vst compatible...

i haven't tried it yet tho but what i've been told it does
support it...
