THAD'S BOOGIE

I started my piece for Thad's EP concept... I have had this
little skit inside my mind for the last week, so I put it
down: I didn't know how to develop it, so anyone who fancies
taking it further, please tell me, and I'll furnish them
with the REASON file and a pertinent wav file.

Here is the piece: CLICK ME! :)

Feedback appreciated, tho it's only short -- I find the loop
infectious!

I also uploaded this demo of one of my guitar songs - it has
me playing guitar and singing :| very rough!

That's what I wanted, actually :D I would hum along to it as
it looped -- unfortunatley, not only do I have a mic which
isn't quite good enough (cost £60), but also, my soundcard
doesn't appear to be duplex, so when I wear headphones, and
try to record myself that way, the music is also recorded
:(

That's why the demo of my guitar song is quite rough - I had
to play and sing at the same time - and try and get the
balance just by my position in relation to the mic.

Cheap way to get pseudo full duplex for the purposes of
recording:

Burn a CDr of the track. Play that on a discman with
headphones on as you sing/play along. Then just sync the
start of the vocals to the rest of the track.

Track reminds me of the antartican suicide club a bit BTW.

Do you know how I could develop it? Short of changing the
riff and stuff, I'm stumped... I had three soloes, which
were fine by themselves, but didn't quite fit the
ambience of the piece!

The only "cheat" way I can think of extending it is to keep
the riffs, but have:

(Instrument A Plays intro)(Instrument A plays main
section)(Instrument A plays main section)(Instrument B plays
main section- IE same bits, just change the main instrument
to a string section/whatever)(Instrument A plays main
section for last time)(Instrument A plays the playout).

I'm glad it brightened up your day - even my mother came
into the room yesterday whilst I was playing it at her house
for my little brother, and she boogied... I really should
expand it, and make it into another "DOOP"

This is a funny song, really enjoyable in its quirkiness.
Nice work.
