*4/4 kick drum & shimmery guitar*
i see your pictures on the wall
and thats all right with me
i see you run to make a call
callin otu to someone free
your life and my life
they dont touch at all
and thats no way to be
youll always be a star *feedback fades in*

*drums and guitars erupt*
whats real?
what is truth?
i aint turned my back on you!

might be simple it might br true
i might be overwhelmed by you
im still on your side
in spite of everything you do

i remember when kim gordon was a sex symbol to all the punk
kids...

now she's older than granma moses.

oh well, her vocie is still fierce, and her bass skills are
in top form.

You don't have to hype/sell the record. Sonic Youth always
puts out quality albums, no matter who's on it.

sonic nurse is an awesome title, anyone seen the artwork for
it yet? I hope its like the artwork on the Sonic Youth
website.

pantalaimon > yes. not in very good quality, but
here.

and here is the tracklisting:

Pattern Recognition (6:45)
Unmade Bed (3:57)
Dripping Dream (8:00)
Mariah Carey And The Arthur Doyle Hand Creme (5:20)
Stones (7:10)
Dude Ranch Nurse (5:58)
New Hampshire (5:17)
Paper Cup Exit (5:57)
I Love You Golden Blue (7:00)
Peace Attack (6:08).

notice that it's called Nurse on the artwork (and at many
other places), not Sonic Nurse... Sonic Nurse would be a
much better title though = /

i love the track title "dude ranch nurse"

hahahahahahahaha genius!

offline uzim on 2004-03-27 11:06 [#01121585]

ah, Sonic Nurse would be good : )

"Dude Ranch Nurse", i'm not sure i understand but i don't
like this title very much.

i'd have preferred "Nurse In Unmade Bed" or "Dripping Dream
Nurse" or "Nurse Wearing A Paper Cup" or "Stoned Nurse" or
"Peace Nurse Attack" or.....

thats the thign thats so awesoe about that title, is the
stupid image it puts in my mind.

a nurse workin at a ranch somewhere with cowboys lined up on
a fence with broken limbs.

hahahahahahaha

I pictured something closer to The Big Lebowski standing by
giving a peace sign while a nurse sort of floated around in
a ranch dressing vortex.

one of their best i think, almost every track is excelent.
'i love i love golden blue' is definately one of the best on
there... never heard a song like that from sonic youth.

Stones is my favourite track at the moment, especially the
second part of it.

nice.

Nurse is great - the jazzy riff break in "peace attack" is
the best part!

weird that you can get the two japanese bonus tracks and the
enhanced cd stuff from sonic`s own messageboard... ( a
weird video for "peace attack" and a "composing session")

(they should set up some form of pay pal system really)

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2004-06-10 13:05 [#01233336]
Points: 14210 Status: Regular

i'm quite sick of enhanced cds. the novelty has long worn
off for me. especially when it's just a link from a menu to
a band's website. that's boring.

i haven't checked out the videos yet and i didn't see the
japanese bonus tracks anywhere...

that's so lame... :(

anyway, kim gordon is particularly great on this record.
her vocals sound extremely different than what i'm used to -
much more melodic and sing-y.

excellent album (especially the second in a row with a
fantastic sound - thx, mr o´rourke)

is it mr jim o´rourke who´s singing on "new hampshire" -
it doesn´t sound like thurston or lee?

i don't think it says who it is, but i have a feeling it's
jim o'rourke.

the frog bonus video wasn't funny. it was boring and a
little creepy.

the frog video was lousy pointless stuff, but the song is
nice I think.

That doesn't sound like Jim O'Rourke to me. It's probably
Thurston Moore, but yeah, his voice is wEiRd.
