Screw around with fruityloops
(http://www.fruityloops.com/English/frames.html). It is fun
and easy. The demo is free.

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcxd on 2001-12-22 23:34 [#00063618]

Buyer beware!

There is a lot of cheap and or free stuff which is ideal
for starting up - and going quite a long way ..

But yeah .. Fruityloops is probably a wise investment .. as
it will take you ALL the way (so to speak).

??? It is an expensive hobby tho

Play the piano and impress the ladies. Make sure to tickle
the 'c' key liberally whilst winking at the femaninas.

I don't believe RDJ had the idea that he was going to make
millions with electronic music. I think he sort of invented
it. I wonder sometimes, if you want to make music with the
goal to become big & famous if you can possibly make it.
That is, RDJ started when he was 14 supposedly building his
own synths and stuff.

SAW 85-92, RDJ was 14 in 85

wayout from a plastic bubble on 2001-12-23 02:49 [#00063649]

well..rdj started out fucking around with his parents'
piano..then started getting into electronics..modifying
synths, etc.
he made it look pretty easy being a child prodigy and all..
you dont have to start out like he did though...your best
bet would probably be to download some free programs off the
internet..there are tons..just go to downloads.com or some
site like that..

I started fooling around with electronic music with, yes,
KABOOM FACTORY! anyone remember that? an old sound program
with only one track, and 16 bit sound. that was when I was
12. I gradually moved up to SoundEdit 16, and then to
Reason.

Quoth from Lincoln on 2001-12-24 06:03 [#00063852]

I get started with a little bit of "practicing" on my
drumset... then I make myself deaf and then I get this
ringing in my head for about 3 days straight and then it is
time for me to write music
