Why, thank you. I love you.

I made the "album closer" the other day and I'm working on
the title track right now. I would like for it to be 15
minutes long. After that, it will be finished. And stupid.

and therefore quite brilliant. :)

is Flappypants still advancing in age?

or has he halted?

or, dare I say it, is he even regressing?

this is a very suspenseful piece. kidna unsettling, and dare

a simple track, but very very minute details at work here.
i had to listen a second time to catch everything. this is
prolly my fav of the 2, and is VERY good at painting the
vibe of space that twin tries to incorporate on somethign
liek drukqs.

Well, I appreciate it. I work on stuff all the time, but
never really upload much of it for some reason. I made those
two near the end of 2003. You make music, right?

Alex: Flappors is still kicking. I threw his ass out of the
studio just before production began on DIE, though.
We had creative differences... I don't put up with bullshit,
Alex. So I'm taking ALL the credit for this fine release. We
have resolved everything, though.

r40f: the ep is coming along nicely. there will be 4 tracks
now instead of 3, and one will feature scat vocals by
tallyho (possibly more than that if a can coax her into
doing some guitar or something). my friend on here glasse
just finished his debut, which i helped mix and stuff.... so
thats coming out soon. also did a few remixes recently.

ill let yall know when somethings ready for consumption ;)

i should've mentioned, tibbar, that i originally intended to
dedicate "electric lucifer" to you, since i never delivered
the hardcore remix medley of the 1910 fruitgum company, if
you recall. but you weren't around at all when i posted the
track (which i'm still working on, sort of).

so while it was dedicated to bruce haack (who recorded the
album "electric lucifer") and you (you know who you are),
i'd also like to dedicate the track to you.

i call the style of "electric lucifer" "hardcare."

pledzeppra - abandoned house
***
i dig the real tranced out eeriness of this track. i wasnt
sure if id get bored when i saw the track was 8+ minutes
long... well, i sorta did. BUT... i really dig the singing
that comes in occassionally. and the little giggles and
quirks are REAL nice. the only thing id suggest when
constructing a track of this length and this style would be
to maybe have a nice subdued 16th note hi hat come in at
some point. then maybe an additional snare or rim hit later
on, just so it feels like its building towards something.
other than that, i did enjoy this track. :)

holding hands underground
****1/2
i dug this RIGHT off the bat.
very nice sounds, and a nice subtle melodic sense here.
basically, this one is a keeper. i downloaded it, and i will
only download somethign im sure ill actually listen to
again, so you've won your way into my heart with this
track.

electric lucifer
***1/2
VERY orb. but that's not a bad thing, considering even THEY
aren't doing orb stuff nowadays :D
this really took me back somehow. very very nice. this is
kinda what abandoned house maybe shouldve took some pointers
from, structurally. i also d/led this one, as it made me
full on smile ear to ear.

manicminer - chimneys (shinobi mix)
****
this was a VERY ncie drum and bass track. the audio was a
little iffy in real audio, but i wont mark that against
you.
there was some very nice cuts here, little incidental sounds
that really made this track have a stand-out identity to
me.
very nice work, all in all. it made me wanna do a jump kick
or something.

vienisas
***
nice piano intro...
the 808 is a tricky thing.
hahahah
its somethign that when used right, seems to add to a track,
but when used for ill can be devestating.
the beats were all fine (couldve used a little more of a
build up maybe) EXCEPT that dang 808 open hat that comes in
form time to time. hahahahaha sorry man, it just REALLY
annoyed me. but thats what honest critique is all about,
innit?

jeff
***1/2
whoever this guy jeff is must be pretty slick.
the whole track has a ncie minimal jazz feel that i was
really diggin on. the funk was rooted deep in my soul,
bruthuh.
i felt like i was about to leave my body and hang out
shootin dice with sun ra or something. a dope jam.

zeus: very nice asian undertones (or were they overtones?
can never remember?) in that track. i did find myself
wanting an accompanying rhythm, perhaps a more conventional
one, to come sit under the splishing and squishing at some
point. maybe thats just me, i love a good bass snare combo.
not somethign too nuts, maybe sorta liek bjork's video
version of all is full of love. kinda mellow but present.
but it would be equally as at hoome i think on the lost in
translation soundtrack.

darius - something somethign panda ;)
***1/2
now see, this reminds me of an aspect of what my friend
glasse does. the grainy kinda drone thing. i really enjoy
the way both of you do this. its very tasty. i kinda zoned
out at a point, so i guess that all forthis track :)

solace remix
***
also a very nice track, especially for a remix. doesnt
necessarily have the remix vibe to it. feels more original.
the onyl thing i can hear that kinda took me outta the zone
was the quick jutters of the deeper synth. maybe a nice vst
effect & some slight reverb couldve made it feel more "in
the mix". i dug the colorful rainbow-ish synth that comes in
about 2/3 in.

aoens - myoptic survey ep
****1/2
now right off the bat, im judging this as a whole work, not
a single track (far too lazy for that task) so bare with.
right off the bat, i liked this material.
a VERY good way of mixing the acoustic guitar thing and the
glitched out ambient thing. i dont know alot of artists who
do this style too well (short of hrvatsky/keith fullerton
whitman). what can i really say? i loved this thing. ill
prolly go back later and download the outtakes and previews
off your next album. very strong stuff

***1/2
for starters, i loved you zebox page. nice color scheeme and
personalisation.
as for the track, i feared it. talk about an audible
nightmare. this was a full on rape attempt on my eardrums.
and i loved every second. very good stuff man, and i dont
usually go for the abrasive thing. vsnares got NOTHIN on you
dude. he could learn a thing or 2 from your ability to
organise the sounds into something that actually doesnt HURT
to listen to. i'm glad you had the intuition to put a few
breather periods in the track. an exhausting listen. there
were points where i wasnt sure, but i thought the track was
going to disintegrate like when a film stops with the lamp
still on. wowzers.

stickfigure - ep4 sample
***
brief, but good. cant comment too much on 40 seconds i
guess.

ep2-04
***
ill get the tri repetae reference right out of the way,
since i dont want to seem too obvious. there is a
similarity. ok, but aside from that, there was some ncie
soundwork going on here. reminded me of what matmos WANTED
to be doing on 'a chance to cut...'. it could use some
spicing up. id like to see a remix of a track like this.

ep01-02
***
also totally brief, but this time i sensed somethign more
interesting to me personally. id liek to have heard the
entire thing.
