all pantera cds are good, but if you want the HEAVY shit
then you must look much farther than pantera, or even
deicide and superjoint ritual. much farther..

but dont get me wrong these bands are good

I could list more than a 100 im sure.

BUT IF YOU LIKE PANTERA CHECK THIS SIMILAR BANDS BUT MORE
UNDERGROUND TYPE, HARDER CRAZIER MORE DEATH.

Dying Fetus
Deicide
Six Feet Under

there are so many more id suggest but I dont think youd be
ready, these three here are pretty well known im sure of it,
others id name i dont think anyone here knows of.

yeah...morbid angel falls into that catagory, well known
death band...

Morbid angel are heavy in a really nice way but I believe
sludge bands are the pinnacle of heaviness...

pinnacle?.. no no no.... no way! like sludge bands like
eyehategod possibly... but even then,

ULTIMATE Heaviness comes from a good and proper mix of FAST,
SLOW and the inbetween......... form and function so to
speak, the elements of both, if you speed up a lot of stuff
that starts off slow it gets way heavier, and then slow it
down sometimes it really shows that riff off in a slow and
simple way... heavier... but the fast is so important,
without it music can get boring. death metal anyway.

No no Eyehategod are fucking groovilicious compared to stuff
like Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine, Khanate or Sunn 0))).
Completely based on low frequencies and also much sicker
than let's say Hate Eternal.

offline REFLEX from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on 2004-03-24 10:22 [#01116196]
Points: 8864 Status: Regular

yeah yaeh I dont like type 0 negative either..

oh well, right now the bands im really into is mostly
norwegian black metal stuff

like Darkthrone, Carpathian Forest, In Battle, Immortal,
Gorgoroth, Destroyer 666, Immolation, Marduk, Funeral Mist,
Forest Of Impaled.... thats all blak metal stuff, my god i
wouldnt imagine never listening to this stuff, its who iam!

as far as death/grind goes i love somuch of it, but whats
really interesting me mostly now (i mean what im mostly
listening to this week or two is..)

cattle decapitation
anal blast
dying fetus
disrupt
cripple bastards
agathocles
exhumed
neuraxis
dead jesus
circle of dead children

just to name a small few

Circle of dead children are really sick musically... some of
the other bands you mentioned are a little too ordinary for
my ears... still I insist that the whole rotting sludge
genre is the definition of heavy maybe you should check some
of the shit I mentioned.
