I am constantly being haunted by painful feelings of nastalgia from when i knew love, but lost it in one fateful evening. i don't think it should be called a fairy tale.. it's entirely possible that a man named Christ existed and was crucified for whatever reaon just like countless of other people during that time period... he was just claiming to be a messenger from god. the whole "fairy tale" deals with if you want to believe in him.. or if you believe that his body disappeared from the tomb mystically, or was just physically removed by someone. i agree that the "occurances" in the bible have been greatly distorted in a "tall tale" type of way.. but it seems very unlikely to me that Christ never existed. hell, even the leaders of most "apposing" religions agree that Jesus existed and was possibly a prophet of some kind.. but not the son of God.. even though the rules of their religion(s) state that anyone who was to worship a false god such as Jesus would burn in hell for eternity. you'd think the other religions would be the first to say that Jesus didn't exist, or that he was fucked up in the head.. in order to save our souls from eternal damnation.. but instead.. it seems the only people who claim that that Jesus probably didn't exist don't usually believe in anything religion-wise themselves.. you could look at it as Christ either "knew" that he was God's son, and/or he just "thought" he was, due to some type of mental illness, or he knew that he wasn't God's son but was just making it up to be worshipped.. but either way, if he actually existed, he was most definitely killed for what he said/believed.. i can't see what's so hard to believe that he existed.. or why people need to point out trivial flaws/inconsistencies/etc .. i mean, most errors/weird shit in the bible could easily be caused entirely by the hand of man.. can't one just instead just focus on the fact that they don't think someone can actually be the "son" of the creator of everything around us?..sent to die to send us all to heaven. though, from a religious view, i guess each and every one of us would be offspring of God, like ch |

unnecessarily long rant #2 /things that you may or may not know: what i meant to say was "fairy tales never happen".. the distinction between Christ and Dragons/Sphinx/Griffins/Leprechauns is that Christ at least really did live at one point.. i guess one, could classify the bible as part history and a several parts fairy tale.. part an account of the truth/history and part fantastical fables fabricated by man to scare and inject some "morality" into the listeners/believers.. instead of just telling them only the often boring truth/history they augmented it and humanly warped it with symbolism and some possibly blatant lies. the problem is, if you were at all to believe in any of it, it'd near impossible to tell what would be the actual word of God, and what is the word of man. man had the final say in what became the words of the bible, so if anything was divinely inspired it's been muddled up, (mis)translated, retranslated, and deliberately changed countless times by man. you could make the assertion that God/Jesus would swoop down and destroy each and every Bible, or rewrite the pages in each copy, magically, if it didn't explain everything exactly the way he wanted it to.. but unless Christ's key points and morals are erased from the pages, (which they aren't) like caring for and respecting fellow human beings, etc.., there would really be no need to.. God making himself "known" or scientifically proven would spoil the whole concept of a God/man relationship where man is knowingly free to do what he/she wishes, "good" or "evil", to believe or not believe in God through blind faith or rationality.. it's always up to the reader to make the distinction between the facts/history in the book and the intentionally fantastic workings of man.. the extraordinariness shouldn't ever be the deciding factor in either completely accepting and believing it, or dismissing the whole thing as a crock of shit. my avatar is actually a rat, btw. rodents are beautiful! |
