Drukqs is number 7 boys and girls... pretty cool... Bob
Dylan is number one, and Bjork is number 4 with
Vespertine... just thought you'd like to know...

Jesus Christ! Does it strike anyone else how well drukqs is
doing? How did everyone know in advance it was going to do
this well? Its really crazy. There was no huge promotion
and Aphex Twin is no being played at Virgin Megastore, I
heard it there yesterday. WTF is going on?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-21 05:07 [#00063102]

Aphex Twin is invading the mainstream!!!!!
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-12-21 05:08 [#00063103]

maybe.

where i am living no one knows aphex(or almost no one)...
even people who are raving about radiohead have not heard
his music (at least before I introduced them to richard's
genius). in the local virgin megastore they are playing crap
all the time, and a good local newspaper's music critic
always raves about boring retro-rock bands and dismisses a
great album like drukqs in a microreview. but maybe it's
only central europe, and the sameness of the boring taste
(in films, music) of the people here.

it isnt doing that well... don't kid yourself... but it is
Aphex Twin after all, a well established name so he has
earned some attention.... don't worry about him going
mainstream... it did get written up in the review section of
our local paper two months after Drukqs was released,
actully a intelligently written couple of paragraphs with
the usual Aphex is to be respected but Drukqs is sorta
lukewarm...

The danish smartasses raves about it now! totally.... i dont
know if this is a sign for me to move on to something more
underground, or that i am becomming a smartass myself....
hmm. if i´m not carefull ill end up with half long hair,
squared glasses and such things.....:O... but its cool
enough
