Great film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Deliverance type thing. Straightforward horror with great special fx.
I can't understand why it was only in the cinemas for such a short time here.

I hate these modern hollywood horror films, even when they re-make a good foreign horror movie (Ring) they still manage fuck it up and stick stupid cgi to it to make it less scary.

Have you seen Wrong Turn? It's not a remake (so far as I know), it's just done in an older style format, but with modern effects.

It was only in the cinema for a short time because people didn't go and see it because they didn't have you and Chris for company...and it just wouldn't be the same

haven't seen it but it doesn't really look like my type of film, I love the old Evil Dead films but I just don't like all these new hollywood films that borrow heavily from 80's cult horror films. They are too predictable and are rarely scary. I prefer the more atmospheric modern horrors, Dark Water, Jacobs Ladder etc... anyway just personal preference but Wrong Turn really doesn't look like its much different than any other Horror movie hollwood has been making since Scream. Scream has a lot to answer for! I'm dreading the re-make of Dawn of the Dead but hopefully it will surprise me.

I missed the one weekend it was one due to me being in Holland at the time. As if to mock me, dutch MTV showed adverts/features about it non stop all that weekend.
Pan: I love the old evil dead films too... Romero is king of suspense. It's amazing how much Day of the Dead influenced the Resident Evil games.

saw this film months ago. it was a good popcorn flick, nothing more. it had poor acting, it was kind of predictable (if you see two young teenager make out / have sex in a horror movie, they are officially DEAD).
some bad horror movies can be fun. so i just take it for what it is and enjoy myself.

Yeah I liked 'Wrong Turn'. Its as Ceri states, an old 70s style horror flick. In ways it was kinda funny too but quite gripping also. You get the usual 'why don't you get the fuck out of there situations?'. I have to say I felt the inbreeds weren't too scary and I wouldn't say it hits the palm sweating factor as much as Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Its a pretty superficial kinda movie nothing too deep just straight forward popcorn horror. Anyways I enjoyed it for what its worth though.
