this has happened to me before. but i've always just
redownloaded the track in question. anyways, i downloaded
Squarepusher's Tetra-Sync because I've heard so many
accolades tossed it's way. i legit bought 'UV" and am
lovings it, but didn't score the 3". in soulseek it
clearly shows that i finished downloading the song. i even
watched it's progress. but low and behold the track is
nowhere to be found on my hard drive. i tried finding all
mp3's i downloaded today using windows advanced find
feature, but it's a no show. i don't understand. has this
happened to other people. does anyone have an explanation
as to why a properly finished download in soulseek didn't
actually download the file anywhere. i've done this enough
to know it's not something stupid like my preferences are
pointing my dwnld's to a place i'm not thinking of. it
literally isn't anywhere on my hard drive. odd and annoying
especially for a long track.

the track listed a different way...

say for instance:
instead of downloading: Squarepusher- Tetra-sync
download: Tetra-Sync-(3"bonusdic)Ultravisitor

...or somethin

have had this happen a few times before. did my head in
properly when it happened the first time.

then I found out it is quite a common occurence.

I have no idea why, though.

If you can't find the file - it's not there.
It's that simple.
Don't go look for it.
You won't find it.

you're right DeadEight. i tried downloading the same track
with an identical name from another person. the same thing
hapened. the file was created on my hard drive but
disappeared as soon as the download completed. crazy. i'm
sure bill gates is to blame somehow.

it may be hidden. as in set to 'hidden' under file
properties. soulseek can still show files that are set to
hidden.
