INTRODUCTION
On April 8th 2004 South Wales will be celebrating their
development and success
of the dance music industry with a new awards ceremony.

The ‘People’s Awards’ have been created to show
appreciation to all of those
involved with making the scene what it is today. The awards
ceremony will be
taking place in the Park Thistle Hotel in Cardiff located on
Park Place. Special
guest speaker for the evening will be Howard Marks.

When you look back at the UK club scene over the past twelve
months the South
Wales area has been the opposite of much of the rest of the
country. While many
of the UK’s superclubs have been suffering from a drop in
numbers over the past
eighteen months, the local scene in South Wales has been
progressively growing
in stature. It appears that the fastest growing capital
title is also true of
the club scene and level of talent across the whole of the
area.

CHARITY
All proceeds from the awards will also be going to the World
DJ Fund Charity,
which supports Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. The ethos
behind this special
charity is that ‘Music is an intrinsic part of life and a
universal Languauge.
Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy is grounded in the belief that
everyone can respond
to music, no matter how ill, disabled or traumatised.’

Neil Roberts, organiser of the awards, says “We are
delighted to be able to host
an award ceremony such as this. With so much talent in Wales
we felt it was
right to have awards that cover every genre and aspect of
the dance music
industry. These awards will hopefully bring together all
those who work so hard
to make Wales’ clubbing community what it is today.”

VOTING
The voting for the awards has now commenced...
