2 hours of complete tedium. Hardly anything happens.

I really can't agree with your comment that it's all boring
shite these days, because I watch many movies that simply
aren't that.

It strikes me as a film that people feel they should like
because it's some kind of unimpeachable classic, that to
criticise it is some kind of sacrilege.

i know what you mean...it's their own loss though, they're
the one that have to sit there and pretend they like it. i
experienced before that i was extremly bored with some film
and couldn't leave cuz i kind of promissed i'd stick to the
end, so i definitely know how it is :)

- Kill Bill vol. 1

Sheer overhyped, overappreciated nothingness.
"Omg, Jonathan Ross loves it so I must rave about it also!"

- Bad Boys II

Got this from a colleague as I would've never rented it
anyway.
I wanted to turn it off at 30 minutes, thinking it was time
to wrap the utter shite up but I decided to give it one more
chance and I let it run in the background whilst playing on
the internet waiting for something to happen in this movie.
After 40 more minutes of background agony it still didn't,
so I threw this piece of crap out of my DVD.
Absolutely cringe worthy gun-glorifying piece of
filmwastage with not a shred of logic, story, humor or
interesting action. A true insult for the brain. Can't
believe this director still gets big budget projects as he's
obviously fit for nothing but making deodorant commercials
or lame-ass musicvideos.

Agreed Kill Bill Vol 1 is overrated. Still better than a lot
of other movies for what its worth but no way the best
Tarantino movie. First half was dope the second half lost
its way.

danbrusca: don't you understand that in threads like this
you're not supposed to say classic movies like Citizen
Kane... even if you hate the movies you're supposed to say
they're your favorite, and that they're such an inspiration
to you or whatever, so you can look big and appear all cool
and shit... I figured everyone on this site understood this
rule!

this rule applies to threads about worst and best in music
too...

don't talk shit.

just because you think something is boring does not mean it
therefore is therefore boring to ALL people.

I always hate that mentality whereby people think something
is only liked because it is a classic. immediately feeds the
thought that the person who says this actually does or has
done this himself.

to me this falls in the same bullshit basket as saying
someone did not "understand" a film/piece of
music/whatever.

and Funkmaster - yes you can. normally this can lead to an
interesting discussion, that is, unless someone says it's
just boring - not a lot to talk about then.

OK, can we all just accept that if person A says something
is boring it doesn't mean they're saying 'therefore it must
be boring to everybody and if you don't agree you're
wrong'?

Otherwise, we're all going to have add a fucking disclaimer
to every post saying 'This is of course only my opinion and
other people may hold different opinions'. Let's just take
that shit as read.

"Citizen Kane" wasnt really that good.

People just like it because it is a classic. So many way
better movies out there.

Sheeesh
I must have a really crappy taste as I actually like a few
of these "bad" movies.

I can't beleive nobody has come out and defended NAKED LUNCH
yet!!

Any how...there's also the matter of Alien Ressurection. I
love the fim, from Brad Dourif's Evil Scientist to the
tragic monstrosities in the clone lab to the new and
genuinely creepy yet sexy hybrid Ripley. My least favourite
of the Alien series is majority of the population's
favourite. ALIENS by James Cameron... what a macho wank
fest. Don't get me wrong I like it as a part of the
conituum but...

Remove Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding and enjoy the
stunning spectacle.

Vincent Ward is a visionary (a kiwi no less :) )but the
smaller his budget, the more creative control he wields and
the more powerful the imaginative scope of his films. Case
in point is VIGIL.
VIGIL

well for starters it ruined the serious approach of the
previous 3 movies, with it's awful comicbook style approach
and inappropriate humor (the general for example). Also
there's the total lack of continuity with the trilogy. Not
to mention the aliens turned jurassic park velociraptors
bullshit, the alien queen giving birth like a human and of
course wynona rider.
