The UK alone has created the most inspirational musicians/artists in the world.
1.The Beatles 2.Pink Floyd 3.Led Zeppelin 4.Aphex Twin 5.Squarepusher 6.David Bowie 7.Radiohead
Etc etc
the list can go on forever.

yeah but to say that we're the only ones to create inspirational artists is a bit egotistical
Trent Reznor Bjork
and there's a hole slew of other people, of non-uk origin who i can't for the life of me remember right now, but i'm sure that many people will say who!

what a stupid and narrowminded thought you had...
in fact they are influential and popular in a certain cultural environement that is spreading like wildfire around the world and i sforced down people's throats
but i don't think that in the end the uk has produced more amazing artists than other countries, just that their pop artists are popular in western civilisations like ours, like americans for the music and cinema and all...
it's all culture an fashion really, not skills and geniousness

Whilst I agree there are some great artists/labels abroad, I agree (especially when you consider the ratio of population to no. of great electronic musicians) the majority of the great pioneers are from the UK. Specifically England and Scotland- the only really great Welsh electronic musician we had was Brian Lustmord and he went off to Canada years ago. Also, I can't think of any great Northern Irish electronic artists...
E-man: R&S are a great label, but a lot of their talent in the early days were from the UK :)
UK Artists:
Aphex Twin Boards of Canada Squarepusher Autechre Sneaker Pimps Brian Lustmord Portishead N.O.W. LFO Cyclob FSOL Prodigy Coldcut Death In Vegas Stakker
It's not just the more alternate electronica either- Trip Hop and Drum and Bass are pretty dominated by UK (specifically Bristol) artists too...

I think a question people who seriously disagree should answer is:
If, for the rest of your life, you could only listen to the electronic music produced by the people of one country, which would it be?
