What is the purpose in life? Why do I need to sleep? Why does everyone die? Why do people want to kill other people?

Because it really pisses me off that I have to wake up and yet, I'm going to die... whether I like it or not. And I realize that people want to kill me. Isn't that weird? Why ask why? Because it expands your mind.

Why do I try, really? I'll be forgotten, the sun will swell up and engulf us, taking everything we made along with it...
Sigh...

That'd be pretty fucked up if all of earth was gobbled up by the sun... LOL... we'd totally be fucked. Aren't mind's weird?

But why do we bother? Why does love affect us so?

according to richard dawkins, death is the accumulation of lethal genes that are late acting. genes are constantly mutating since the copying process of dna has errors sometimes. some, in fact most mutations are harmful because it would be a rare case that a mutation would just happen to work in cooperation with all the other genes. so anyway we have lethal genes and the lethal genes that act early are not passed on because the carriers of it do not have time to reproduce and replicate it. the late acting ones, however do get passed on since the individual carrying it has had a chance to reproduce. If the human species outlawed reproduction until people were 40, the life span would theoretically increase, then we could outlaw it until 50, etc. we already have too many people on the planet with severe ecological devastation so why not have them live longer giving them even more time to reproduce?

I just hate how artificial everything is now, our lives are timed by the clock and we divide labor which means you might as well get used to bagging groceries 8 hours a day or something equally tedious, as opposed to how it used to be in nature, more free.

I don't quite understand... I understand about the death gene thing, I think I've heard about that before, but how would having kids when you're 40 or 50 make any difference? They'd still be passing along the death gene thing wouldn't they?

Evolution is so hard to grasp, it's probably impossible for a single individual to understand it fully. I can't answer questions like that without dazing off for awhile and putting it together in my mind. The book was dawkin's "the selfish gene" and is one of the best I've ever read... ok let me think...
ok, let's say the only people to reach 80 yrs old are the ones who havn't inherited lethal genes that are late acting (until that age at least). so if these people are the only ones to reproduce, the population would become rid of lethal genes for say 60 years old, and filled with ones for 80+...
dawkins described it quite well, I wish I could.
