Current 93 live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank,
London, 9 October 2003
The first in a series of new material by Current 93 which is
scheduled for release through World Serpent in 2004.
The first is a recording of Current 93's show at London's
prestigious South Bank Centre, where they joint headlined
with Cosey Fanni Tutti and Chris Carter (performing as
Carter-Tutti).
The CD comes in a beautiful gatefold full colour digipak
with full colour print on CD. The CD has 16 tracks and is 67
minutes long and features the entire concert that Current 93
played that night. It includes three previously unreleased
tracks as well as 'Locust' from the 'Imperium' album, which
has never before been performed live.

Tracklisting: Halo • Alone • Mary Waits in Silence •
Calling for Vanished Faces II • The Signs in the Stars •
All This World Makes Great Blood • Good Morning, Great
Moloch • Whilst the Night Rejoices Profound and Still •
5 Hypnagogue 5 • A Silence Song • Sleep Has His House
• 4 Hypnagogue 4 • Fields of Rape • So: This Empire is
Nothing • The Death of the Corn • Locust

Current Ninety Three first and last things and times: David
Tibet: vocals; Michael Cashmore: guitar and bass; Maja
Elliott: piano; Joe Budenholzer: guitar; Graham Jeffery:
piano; Joolie Wood: violin, whistle and recorder; John
Contreras: cello; Karl Blake: vocals; Finn Sands: vocals.

The CD came this morning. The recording quality is
brilliant, for a live album. I was at the show and it really
captures the atmosphere of the night. Excellent.

What's your favourite 'era' of C93? Industrial, folk or the
minimalist stuff?

To me all C93 stuff comes out sounding like goth....

Yeah, most of C93's catalogue is a bit gothic sounding. But
it's a pretty diverse catalogue. Everything from industrial
to ambient, folk, minimalist classical and metal.

I love the folk shit, Nature and Organisation, all that
stuff. Anything with pianos, acoustic guitars and strings-
I'm there, dude. Not as fond of the earlier, more abrasive
stuff, but they have their charms too. For me, the all time
best is Soft Black Stars, though, which doesn't really fit
snugly into either of those categories.

I put Soft Black Stars into the minimalist stuff they've
been doing lately. It's my favourite C93 release as well.

ehh another live album. i dont care about c93 live albums at
all because theyre's too many other albums by him to worry
about first. i'll be eagerly waiting the several studio
albums later this year though for sure.
