I just bought a new Nintendo 64 tonight... you should see
how shiny and clean it is! My old one breathed its last this
week, it just would not power up. I haven't played Perfect
Dark in ages, and you can just imagine my disapointment.

So I buy this new one, hook it up, and I realize it came
with the jumper pack, and I need to stick my expansion pack
in there.

The thing will not fucking budge. Are there any expansion
pack gurus out there, any tricks to getting this thing out?
I'm about to dropkick my machine.

I also picked up Panzer Dragoon Orta for Xbox, and this has
to be the best rail shooter in history.

I think the expansion pack should have come with that
wedge/lever thing that you're supposed to use to pry it out.

This expansion pack is like 4 years old, the tool has long
since been lost.

What about a spoon? I'm really just afraid I'm too strong
and I might shatter it or something.

it's vents.

hmmmm i think i had to do the same thing when i got my
expansion. i don't remember what i used but it was a bitch
to get out. i just tried a quarter on each side and pressing
inward and pulling out but that didn't work too well. i
think what i did before was take something and pry it under
one side and move the pack up a little, then do it to the
other side. i repeated until it was out.

while were on the topic of 64, EA is making a sequel to
goldeneye that will be on multiple platforms.

I got a knife from the kitchen and shimmied and jimmied it
out, and I'm in the Datadyne building as we speak! Whoo.

Goldeneye 2... risky business. But EA has been consistently
improving their Bond games, to their credit. I got
Everything or Nothing the other day, and while it's no
Goldeneye, it's great on its own terms, and the most
authentic Bond game yet. Just like a movie. Goldeneye was
really just an exceptional FPS with a license slapped onto
it. It could have been Joanna Dark in there and it would've
been no different. EoN is BOND.

Anyway, GE2 is totally unnecessary, but I'm looking forward
to it anyway. Even if they manage to skewer it, it'll be
interesting at least.

rare doesn't consist of the same people anymore. a good
amount which had to do with goldeneye are now at free
radical (makers of time splitters). also, rare may be xbox
exclusive now (or at least tend to only have releases for
xbox) and the quality of their games just hasn't been the
same. plus, since goldeneye is a movie, the rights were to
make a game based on it were licensed from mgm. rare doesn't
own any right to any sequels unless they buy them (which
they didn't) also, EA europe made 'the world is not enough'
for n64 a couple years after goldeneye. i never played it
but it's supposed to be pretty good. EA tends to have all
the bond games now as well.

Hmmmmm....I may have one of those tools around here
somewhere, I could search it out for you, but I'm guessing
by the time I would have posted it to you, you would have
removed it somehow!

Good Luck!
