"eyes..." almsot seems like a skinny puppy record, dunnit?

i ADORE "III", thoguh some think its to ambient techno and
not enough crazy layers.

yeah Last Rights is one of my favorite albums ever, and it
is my favorite skinny puppy album, easily.

still blows my mind

listen to it on a good set of headphones. it will fuck with
your shit.

lol

yeah, anyways, about NIN

Trent Riznu (the bhangra industrial guy hehe) had better go
back to synth-based stuff!!!!

More synths!! you hear that Riznu???

id just like some instrumental stuff from him.

even if their is guitar, fine.
just seriously stop writing lyrics stolen from a 15 yr olds
journal

yes... it was the well textured ambient instrumental type
stuff that made the fragile so bloody good.... i was really
hoping that he'd release an even more experimental album
this time around...

hehehe

my favorite ever NIN track is "Happiness In Slaver
(version)"

that's instrumental, and fucking amazing

and it's followed VERY closely by "Screaming
Slave".........very ATR'ish (i reckon so anyways)

well, he kinda did with the 'still' ep. i just wish it wasnt
half covers of his old stuff.

i don't think i'll ever understand people hating his lyrics,
not identifying with them, yes. But saying they are shit?

i dont know how anyone can read them aloud with a straight
face.

theyre immature as hell.

whatever, i think his lyrics are fine, lacking in variation
maybe but written very well.

i know it's cliched, but NIN stuff got me through a lot of
bad times

i agree that a lot of his lyrics are kinda lame.
melodramatic angst. and his voice isn't always that great.
but he more than makes up for it with the music and
production.

but heck. that angst is probably why i like NIN so much as a
teenager, young and brimming with angst.

yo me too. especially The Downward Spiral for me. but i
look back on that time in my life with a bit of humility.
realizing now how much hormones and melodrama were
controling my life.

plus, NIN was definitely a gateway for me to discover a lot
of other good music. actually i probably wouldn't have
listened to Skinny PUppy if Trent hadn't mentioned them in a
interview.

For Tibbar and Pantalaimon to discuss, here are some choice
lyrics from The Fragile:

Sometimes I have everything/ Yet I wish I felt something

Underneath it all/ We feel so small/ The Heavens fall / But
still we crawl.

Pleading and/ Needing and/ Bleeding and/ Breeding and/
Feeding/ Exceeding

Now everything is clear/ I can erase the fear/ I can
disapper

Not to mention Starfuckers Inc. *winces*

NIN makes the perfect soundtrack to any type of sci-fi
fighting game... like doom :)

funnily you should mention that

i dunno if you know or not, but the developing team were
heavy NIN listeners, especially during the coding of DOOM

that's why they got El-Rezzo in on doing the Quake
soundtrack

heh

i've got the id Anthology limited box set!!!!!!!

it's a shame that he dropped the DOOM3 soundtrack at such a
late stage :( it would have been the bomb

i also reckoned Aphex would have done a pretty good
soundtrack for DOOM3 too

capable of doing the DOOM3 soundtrack

but i hear that Chris Vrenna is doing it now, so that should
still be decent

Pantalaimon: I agree. I listened to that song after my dog
was put down when I was a sophomore in high school. Can't
listen to it now, get too sad.

ZT: Chris Vrenna has helped the NIN crew out for a while.
Mostly noted for his remixes.

ahhhh i see what sample you mean..i don't think it is
though...

somethig just isn't right for it to be a demon from DOOM

i could be wrong, it's perfectly plausable that he's fucked
with it, but it does have an air of a DOOM demon about
it......

well spotted though, i never really noticed that before!

oh hehe.. I always thought NIN was only a band for touring

well, it's debatable about the music side

all i know it as, is that Chris was a college friend of
Trent's, and i think Chris helped with engineering at the
studio for his stuff

musically though, as far as i know, it's all trent

you're totally right about the live stuff though

and it really pisses me off when some 12 year old girl, who
listens to NIN because she fancies him or something refuses
to believe that it's ONE FUCKING GUY! not a band!

lol

of the fragile for the most part. i can easily see this
album as missing the mark. ah well, whatever.
