it's time for my weekly college radio program :) last one
that's all me until april. next month is all GUEST MIXES,
including an incredible one from john book of
john-book.com/okayplayer.com. that one is next wednesday. if
you all encourage earthleakage maybe he will do a
mix! i know i would love to hear it, even if i don't
recognize anything! seriously, take the opportunity to send
him a message that you want to hear him do a mix, it'll
convince him. anyway...

today i'm playing brand new music from Kanye West, Telefon
Tel Aviv, and Jonny Greenwood, classics from Prince and
Autechre (by request!), plus Bjork, Outkast, Aphex Twin,
Part Chimp, Mogwai, µ-ziq, Talib Kweli, Portishead,
Quasimoto, etc.

begins in 15 minutes at 4 PM EST (9 PM in the UK), ends 2
hours later

*** streaming audio link here (Windows Media Player required)
***

leave comments and questions, i'll answer 'em.. thanks for
listening!

Tune after the Bjork one is great, the guy's voice sounds a
bit like one of the Outkast boys.

Lecoeur: Thanks :) I'm v. busy until my birthday, piece of
coursework that has the second largest impact on my degree
has to be in this friday so I'm v. busy till then, but my
birthday will be agood reward. I'm teaming up with an old
schoolfriend/mate's girlfriend for a joint bash so there
should be a fair number of us out on the fair streets of
Cardiff.

ceri this IS one of outkast, it's andre.. very prince-esque
but not a ripoff

"prototype" from the love below

beautiful ambient keyboard outro by andre, also i love the
bassline

Sweeeet! Nice- I actually like getting xmas/birthday stuff
late- it spreads it out over a longer time period, it's not
all over on the day :)

Not sure what a "DD" refers to? :-s

ever since then when I see or hear the word sausages, I
always think of that gruff little voice.. "sossugus".

flood was really fun, i listened to it a lot when i was
14-15, barely since then though

but i thought the song (especially the title lyric) was
perfect for how some people receive certain parts of my
show...

whenever i hear "sausages" pronounced i think of snausages

btw this quasimoto track, like many things on this album,
samples melvin van peebles and his films and music

hope it's a bit more subtle than that for you, i try to only
bludgeon people with soft -> loud songs once or twice per
show, and make the progression natural otherwise

mogwai "you don't know jesus" another song for rocking out

Slaughterhouse 5 is great. Only Dalton Trumbo's "Jonny Got
His Gun" tops it as timeless anti war books go IMO.

A mate whose house I'm staying at is DD. We're then going
back to a local near his for a more civillised drink and
probably watch a film. Anyone got any recommendations on
films that are out on DVD I ought to buy for post pub
viewing?

diversity. runs the mill from typical (but quality) score
music, to jazz, to experimental "IDM"
