okay, before that last bracket, add a part about how
(finishing the thought) abstract electronic music is less
clear than rock (if either is clear at all... this is a
point that i make in the bracket, but i realize now that i
never finished the point before i made the example... it is
very late here too... :P)...
furthermore, this music generally has no words to help one
equate significance (or coherent track titles for that
matters)...

but really i don't disagree with you that being female or
male affects your perspective... but so does everything...
and the combination of factors is such that it comes out
differently for absolutely everyone... and thus to group it
along gender lines is as legitimate as it is to group it
along lines of what one's favourite colour is... what kind
of food a person likes, etc. and thus not particularly
significant...

yes... i am in the middle of a literary theory class, and it
has had an extreme effect on my philosophical conceptions of
art, etc.

but it's really difficult to explain it to other people
know, cause i hardly understand it myself... i hope we're
all having fun with this... just because i use big words
doesn't make my opinions anymore valid... this has been one
of the more interesting threads i've been in lately...

it's not all that hard.

saussure: the connection between the sign (the word, the
letter) and the signified (the meaning) is arbitrary. the
fact that "tree," "tre" and "baum" refer to the same object
proves this. signs are, however, required to refer to the
signified, thus making communicating thoughts and feelings
possible. and remember that the sign doesn't have to be a
word or a letter, it can be any way of expressing yourself.

saussure isn't difficult... but the post-structuralist
extensions of saussure's ideas is difficult... and that's
kind of what i'm dealin with here...

you mean the "language controls our reality-stuff?"

that would easily be examplified by looking into
south-american languages where certain tribes don't have
more than one day.. they experience the same day over and
over. and another tribe which doesn't have "forgive" in
their language. if you ever offend someone, they will be
unable to forgive you, as they don't know what forgive is.

Neotropic is great though, very FSOL-esque. Of course she

Wow. I never really intended this to be controversial, just
a topic for conversation.

I'm not really too deep into idm myself, so I don't know too
many names. The only one that I could come up with was
Involution, which is 2/3 female. It's got cevin key(of
skinny puppy, download, plateau, etc. etc. etc.), his gf
Bree, and paris sedonis of christian death. It's a really
interesting album. Very organic feeling, IMO.

no, not even that part... the part about justifying the
ripping to shreds of all manners of classification in a
foucauldean manner is difficult... mostly because these
classifications are all that we have in our symbolic order
to understand the world by...
