Yeah :) i rember watching a documentary on him about the
type of stuff he did when Spain go their freedom. Like
outlandishly confusing films revolving around fetishes and
confusing sexuality.

It was great :)

Well now, I've seen Labyrinth of Passion, Matador, Talk To
Her, Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down... his stuff is fun because it's
unpredictable. He never does the easy, obvious thing so you
don't sit there thinking, great, now I have to sit through
this segment so he can get to plot points b), c) and d).

i've not seen very many almodovar films at all... and i'm
really not sure why, cause i think spanish cinema is really
cool... then again, i haven't seen much Bunuel either....
which Bunuel films are good starters for him? (i've already
seen Chien Andalou, and the Discreet Charm of the
Bourgeoisie)

That Obscure Object of Desire is really great - I think it
was his last film.

all those movies are made by a spanish genious (buñuel) but
I think the production and working team for the films was
more french

yeah, bunuel's always had french collaborators...

i really liked La Caza by Carlos Saura, as well as the
Spirit of the Beehive by Victor Erice... i wish it was
easier to find spanish films here, but there doesn't seem to
be too much for some reason...

well yes and no... i don't go to the chain video stores... i
use the library and my girlfriend's work (which is the best
alternative store in town)... so i can get a hold of a lot
of good foreign movies... but because the market for these
movies isn't super fantastic... they can only afford to
bring in so many at a time... if i do hang around this town,
i definitel plan on providing some sort of service to get a
hold of as many rare quality films as i can...

I've always found Almodovar's movies boring.

i live in a capital city, but it's quite a small town -
something like 300.000 people. we have 2 theatres for this
sort of films, but they're both pretty empty. not sure why,
cos the selection seems to be alright - we also have a 14
days anual festival and it's sold out every year, so it's
kind of weird so little people coming to those theatres.
i never rent movies so i can't say what kind of stuff do
they hold. i always try and get the film i want to see - i
don't have enough time for these as it is heh

yeah... i can complain about not having access to certain
films all i want.. cause i have three films out from the
library right now, and another from my girlfriend's work,
and i probably won't find the time to watch half of them...
