BoC vs FSOL

\/\/ooƒerAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-12-17 11:30 [#00061760]

Today I suggest to you a new incredible big match bewteen
two great electronic musicians...

Who do you prefer BOARDS OF CANADA or FUTURE SOUND OF
LONDON?

Make me know your preferencies and we'll see who win this
challange.

BOC will knockout FSOL like Mickey in
"SNATCH"......BLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scary Bear on 2001-12-17 11:35 [#00061764]

BOC

That is all.

taxiderm on 2001-12-17 12:06 [#00061773]

As if that isn't bait.

I think you will get a bunch of people yelling BoC, and two
people saying FSOL.

As great as they are, they aren't BoC!!

Archrival on 2001-12-17 12:10 [#00061774]

BOC

diego from belgium on 2001-12-17 12:26 [#00061776]

Is FSOL still alive anyway?
I mean, they haven't released anything since 1997, right?

I'd still go for BOC though.

\/\/ooƒerAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-12-17 13:28 [#00061778]

...very very interesting... I didn't imagine who BoC won
without problems against the greats FSOL.

Anyway I heard some voice who speaks about a next new album
by FSOL...

FSOL has not done anything worth listening too since:

Lifeforms

I think Dead Cities is the best FSOL's album...

I was looking through these old FSOL topics....

I am listening to Lifeforms right now....
What a great fucking album....

These guys arent as good as BOC IMO...
but they do some good stuff...

Anyone else like "Lifeforms"????

Dead Cities is great.

I think FSOL did release a new record last year. It was a
collection of Papua New Guinea (WHAT A TUNE!) remixes, all
done by themselves. They'd heard so many other people remix
that classic track over the years that they wanted to show
how they saw the track. I haven't heard it though. I think
they have an album of new material coming out soon.

Lifeforms is very good especially Cascade.
The new record from last year isn't so well. it gots some
acoustic elements in it and thats not what i was expecting.
perhaps new material would be better. but i dont believe
that theres new material. i think its a fake.

After listening to the Lifeforms cd in its whole....I have
to say I forgot how much I loved that album and that it
kicks ass...

But they can't touch BOC....
BOC forever....

there arent many albums i can listen to all the way through.
So Im putting all my CD's and vinyl onto my computer, then I
put it on random play, and ive got my own radio show!
suprising combinations and really refreshing. I can listen
for hours like that. Im up to 14 days worth of mp3s at the
moment!

the whole point with webradio... is that it's like free. But
if you get busted playing other peoples music without
authorization/license whatever, you're toast.... but that
never happened. i think... i dunno. anarchy. do whatever you
want.

Future Sound Of London all the way.

even though i only have some tracks, a live recording and
The Isness, it all beats BoC and by far.

FSOL - so, um, MANY FEELINGS !?!?!?!?!?!

I'm actually going to vote for The Future Sound Of London
here.

at what they do...
you'll probably say i havent listened to them enough

i'd have to say FSOl

i'm going to say FSOL. last yearr i was going fucking mad on
BoC, but now i'm not surre what i liked so damn much. i
still think they arre good, but not as good as i thought. a
NEW ALBUM will sorrt that out though.

FSOL is a fine contender, no doubt. Lifeforms is one of the
best electronic albums ever made, and of course we have the
timeless papua new guinea remixes.

But in terms of musical substance and consistent output of
good material, I will declare that BoC > FSOL.

FSOL have always been my fav artists since way back, I love
Lifeforms, Dead City's & ISDN. I actually still remember the
day I first listened to Lifeforms in MVC, it was like
nothing I'd ever heard before & I just remember thinking
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? From that day on I was in
love.
These days I am having the same feelings for BOC....... a
sort of affair I suppose.
Everything goes in cycles & it's all a matter of taste &
mood at the end of the day.
This thread is therefore deemed meaningless although I have
enjoyed reminiscing.....

.....Another thing is that you are comparing music that is
almost a decade apart........If you compare the stuff they
were doing at the same time e.g. Twoism vs Dead Citys, I
think that would be a bit more relevant.
