just one old Ae track can compete with Piezo... his name
it's 444 from Incunabula.
444 is another fuckin' masterpiece, and i never be tired to
listen this wonderful electronic creation too... one of the
best tracks of ever. (i'm repetitive today)

horsefactory: you're a great man too and i never be tired to
watch your mad avatar... pure class! i like it very much ;)

This is one of the songs that bridged the gap between Eno
type stuff that I loved and IDM type stuff which I now love.
I have a lot of respect for it. Glitch, following into
this... can't really ever be topped can it? Clichéd but
perfect adjective to describe it: alien.

just a devastating album... i cannot tell you how much i
would love to hear tracks from around this time that didnt
make it onto the first albums... we can hope

can you believe it? it's the LEAST favourite of my Ae albums
- and I've got them all.

not bad at all, i just can't CONNECT to about half of the
tracks like I could to later stuff and also to incunabula.
maybe i should do meditation (or psychodrugs) more. hmm.

(-> goes to suck some fumes)

offline Exaph from United Kingdom on 2005-02-28 07:02 [#01515717]

i just find it easier to attach emotions/memories to the
early ae stuff... i was reading tolstoy's biography whilst i
kept listening to 444 for example... it takes me back and
haunts me... also i had piezo and yulquen on my mp3 player
as i walked around auschwitz.. so again knid of takes me
back.

but the more i played these songs the more i loved them and
hear added depth and more little noises nestling in the
caves of melody that i hadn't initially been awakened to.

incunabula and amber are easily 2 of my fav albums ever,
they may not be too complex but the genius is certainly
evident.. especially when you consider that incunabula is
probably nigh on 15 years in the crafting...

I shall never tire of the first steps of the combination of
musical genius that is Autechre...

I've been saying this for years now. Piezo is amazing. So is
Nine.

a "piezo" btw is a special pickup for electric guitars that
makes it sound like an acoustic...

Yeah had to tune in again for a while. One of my all time
favorites. In the beginning it sounds like a generic track
but in the end it's like wtf. Like that lfo freqdown (i just
made that word up, but you know like slowing down teh lfo)
with tone portamento is fuckin' nice.

The outro to piezo is the stuff of legend. My favourite
track from that album by quite a margin, it is simply
fantastic.

how could you NOT have a thread about an autechre track
without one single post of the cygmeister? something must be
terribly amiss.

A brilliant song off a brilliant album. Didn't realise it
was so popular, its never really been mentioned before.
Earlier AE is so much easier to listen to, so much more
emotional and deep.
