excel saga has so many jokes that are japanese culture specific that noone from outside japan (like myself) wouldn't get even half of the jokes, the dvd lets you display little bubbles for such information,... but it makes it unwatchable, as it completely fills the screen |

FLC is better than Excel Saga from what i've heard from people that have seen the two shows. I've only seen FLCL and its definatley one of my favourite anime ever! |

you can buy the excel saga dvds at play.com if you download, there are sooo many other shows you should check! flcl is amazing! Dragon Half (same people as Excel Saga) ..then there are all the other animé shows that aren't the same type, but good nontheless... Cowboy Bebop, Boogiepop Phantom(I'm sharing an episode of each of those on slsk (more to come) if you want to just check), Serial Experiments Lain, Love Hina, Yumeria.. there are so many more, but I can't remember all right now... |

i've seen FLCL, Cowboy Bebop and Lain : ) they're great... i've read Love Hina too, not seen the anime... "you can buy the excel saga dvds at play.com" > but the DVD's are zoned aren't they... besides, i'd like french subtitles... they aren't released in france yet, hope they will and soon |

yeah, they're zone2... I don't know which zone france is... you should check the love hina animé too! It rocks! Boogiepop Phantom is kind of like Lain.. I think it's the same people... Cutie Honey also seems cool.. I've got one episode shared, but I haven't seen more than a few clicks here and there.. it's a comedy show... If you like Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Unlimited is something you need to see even though it's not even half as good as the games... Noir.. is a noir detective thing.. from what I've seen, it's kind of cool, and I'm sharing an episode of that as well... Record of Lodoss war rocks! That's a definate recommendation! |

Noir is the next one they'll air on TV after Excel Saga, and i already have the first two DVDs. i have a mixed opinion about it though, some good points, some bad ones... |

the best would be to watch the first episode by yourself : ) i think the flaws would be: lots of flashbacks, slow rhythm, slow story, not a great variety in musics, no blood (?!! o_O)... |

i got the excel boxset about 2 months ago, havent watched it all yet but after what i heard the last episode was about i skipped right to it. Uzim, the last episode will most likely never be aired on tv because the creators of excel thought to themselves "well, they havent cut us off thus far, lets go to the extreme for this last episode!" and they did. loads of gore, swearing, nudity, sex, all uncensored. |
