Nacmat posted a very cool pic of such a thing a while back.
It was like an entrance to hell. Where were these pictures
taken? I was never able to find out more information on the

i'm sure you do have to view them at a certain angle to get
the effect.
like the sponsorship logos painted on sports pitches which
appears to be a 3d relief floating above ground level from
certain fixed camera points.

no, he just sticks it a bit forwards, towards the camera,
look at it as if all is grey underneath him, you could see
it a little better that way
