aperson on 2001-12-15 19:31 [#00061238]

Among the list of things that I know I have, but I can't
touch til christmas are the following

Aphex Twin - RDJ Album
Caustic Window - Compilation
Autechre - Confield (ahhhhhhhhh can't wait)
Autechre - LP5
Autechre - Tri Repetae ++
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Venetian Snares - Printf
Venetian Snares - Songs about my Cats

Thank god I found where my parents stash the gifts :)

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-15 19:38 [#00061241]

Autechre is next for me... I'll have 7 aphex twin albums
with the two SAW albums... gonna start collecting some
Autechre next...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-15 19:45 [#00061242]

so how does it work, it's the England version of SAWII that
has Stone in Focus and that other song on it right? Does it
have those and all the other ones that are on the American
version as well?

Rob.E. from London on 2001-12-15 19:46 [#00061243]

I used to like 85-92 over Vol.2,now i've changed my
mind....the first one is more "poppy"(no bad thing),while
the latter sounds like something you would hear if you were
on that alien planet(Xen?) in the game "Half life".(i.e.much
deeper).Mind you,i'll probably change my mind next week.
Thanks for your company. }:>

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-15 19:47 [#00061244]

yup, I think mine might have the Stone in Focus and the
other track... correct me if I'm wrong, but the American
version has 11 tracks on the first cd, and 12 on the second
right? Well, I just looked at mine and it has 12 on the
first, and 13 on the second... sweetness!!!

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-16 03:05 [#00061279]

stone in focus is great for making the windows shake. turn
the bass all the way up and crank the volume and make
everything in the house rattle!

JOB from St.John\\'s Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-16 05:05 [#00061284]

while the latter sounds like something you would hear if you
were on that alien planet(Xen?) in the game "Half life"

YES YES YES that couldnt have been put any better!

Weathered Stone also has some nice bass, some1 wanna send me
stone in focus! It isnt on my copy

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-16 05:24 [#00061288]

I can't listen to it because my parents bought it for me for
Christmas... they paid the money, so they decide... :)

I can't wait though... it's gonna be one relaxing Christmas
this year, with both SAW albums...

Loogie on 2001-12-16 17:08 [#00061378]

aperson: don't hold your breath... confield is dung.

BTW anyone want to buy my copy, I still haven't managed to
get rid of it

Scary Bear on 2001-12-16 18:21 [#00061385]

Loogie...

Where do you live? I am v. fussy about payment methods.

Scary Bear on 2001-12-16 18:22 [#00061386]

aperson: Look forward to LP5.

bumblefuk on 2001-12-16 18:25 [#00061389]

Stone in Focus is only not on either CD, nut is on a comp,
Excursions in Ambience the Third something... actually i
think it is one of the best SAW 2 tracks, goes to show that
that bastard leaves that one off the CDs. bastard.

bumblefuk on 2001-12-16 18:27 [#00061391]

let me try again and make sense............

Stone in Focus is not on either CD, vinyl only, but is on a
comp CD, Excursions in Ambience the Third something b.s....
actually i think it is one of the best SAW 2 tracks, goes to
show that that bastard leaves that one off the CDs. bastard.

bumblefuk on 2001-12-16 18:30 [#00061393]

oh... Confield is not dung, its interesting.... i think that
is bizarre, people say they like experimental music, of
course as long as it always sounds the same. let Autechre
experiment... i think Confield and EP7, while difficult, are
also very rewarding.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-12-16 18:36 [#00061397]

One time I was really tired and I put on stone in focus and
everything slowed to like a complete halt. Even my
breathing, it was pretty fucked up.

And what the fuck is with you people's parents buying you
Autechre and fucking venetian snares for your birthday. How
in god's name do your parents know what kind of music to buy
you?! Jesus Christ who's parents are going to record shops
downtown and skimming through records saying "Oh I know
Billy would just love the new Planet-Mu compilation."
"We should also get him the new 12" Squarepushing single,
you know how he adores Squarepusher's fast drill and bass
style!" What the hell is going on here? Fucking bizzaro
world! AHHH!!!

I'm just jealous is all.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-16 18:40 [#00061401]

Your parents rule. My mom doesn't like my music, and my dad
is god knows where, haven't seen him in years.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-16 19:09 [#00061409]

I ordered my cds myself... it's just that my parents are
paying... my dad was like "Why do you want a cd that's not
played on the radio?"... hehe... :)

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-16 19:12 [#00061411]

ARG, old people are so goofy!

The radio makes me cry. :-( It's so bad.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-16 19:13 [#00061412]

well my thing with radio music is that it gets old quick,
which is why I'd never buy most of the cds that are played
on the radio... it's catchy, and some of it is enjoyable to
a certain extent, but is not something I'd want to buy and
listen to over and over...

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-16 19:15 [#00061413]

Music that is DIFFICULT is what I like. Took a few listens
to even ENJOY Drukqs. It was too weird at first. You need an
attention span, and radio isn't designed for that. It's
designed for tools.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-16 20:11 [#00061435]

yeah same here... the music that takes longest to enjoy
usually stands up after loads of listens...

Loogie from UK on 2001-12-16 23:31 [#00061509]

I like to think I enjoy experimental and complex or
difficult music, I just wasn't able to derive any pleasure
from Confield.

I wasn't criticising anyones opinions though
