not the youngest fan

Roxy Gibbons from Bristol on 2001-04-27 16:31 [#00004860]

ok, I'm not the youngest fan....I don't give, but no one I
know has even heard of im let alone likes him...so I
thought....oh well.
My silly nature comes fom my red hair.
and Richard isn't gay.

Freefone from Scotland on 2001-04-27 18:10 [#00004872]

hedtwin from manchester on 2001-04-27 18:45 [#00004877]

It is pretty weird how all teh people into IDM all seem to
be in their twenties, well, all teh people that i know.
Interesting.............

gotmeth? on 2001-04-27 19:48 [#00004880]

i'm only 18 and i've been listening to him for 3 years now

Ramalpha84 from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-04-28 00:33 [#00004930]

I am 16. I have been listening to electronic music since I
was 12 as well, the Wipeout 2097 (xl) soundtrack got me into
it. Underworlds Tin There got me into music in the first
place and Orbital's Petrol got me into more IDM ish stuff.
Petrol is extremely cool.

hedtwin from manchester on 2001-04-29 02:33 [#00005013]

well, thats my theory ruined :-)

I am 16.

Ross from scatterheart0@mailcity.com on 2001-04-29 02:50 [#00005019]

im 17, when i was a lot younger i watched muchmusic all day
and never played with lego or g.i. joes (though i did play
with toys) I think this is why i hate modern tv music, i've
seen the same thing for so long..though i used to appreciate
it when i was younger. My friend showed me kraftwerk along
time ago, and it wasnt really into it, but then over the
years through his studio (he has a brilliant studio) i
appreciated electronic music much more..And now i love it,
it really started with aphex tho (my interest)

Ramalpha84 from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-04-29 07:11 [#00005026]

Actually, the first song I ever liked (that wasn't on a
videogame) was Jean Michel Jarre's Fourth Rendezvous. I
found the song again only a few weeks ago thanx to someone
on this msgbord. That song is incredible. I have remembered
it since I was about 7 or 8 years old. That's about half my
life!

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-25 22:41 [#00055488]

my parents own a time machine, and so they went to the
future and picked up I Care Because You Do before I was
born, and on the day of my birth Nov 9, 1982, they had it
playing when I came out of the womb... and I've been hooked
ever since... Aphex Twins music was the only thing that
could stop me from crying whenever I peed in my diaper... so
I've been a fan of Aphex Twin since 1982!!!!

NOW BEAT THAT!!!!!

that is pretty damn cool... is the kid a fuckin genius or
what? introduce him to selected ambient works vol II to put
him to sleep. HAH, that'll surely fuck w/his mind. only to
make him better than us of course, being introduced to it at
age 5. congrats

Taxi on 2001-11-26 02:22 [#00055571]

Heh. The large amount of 'young adults' in here seems to
explain a bit for why this forum has gone to shit.

No, wait, that was |reflex|'s fault. Sorry.

Linda Lovelace on 2001-11-26 03:52 [#00055587]

The Kize beats his five year old son into liking Aphex Twin.
Beats him into submission.

1010-1111-10 from St.JOnn\\\\\\'s Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-26 04:46 [#00055589]

Linda Lovelace:

well for that matter all our parents beat us into every
habit we have now. Even at a young age children do have
likes and dislikes (altho the influence of a parent is a
very powerful thing). I say let him listen if he wants to
listen. What ever makes the kid happy!

Chrispy from UK on 2001-11-26 10:10 [#00055646]

Korben Dallas: Dont worry mate, I'm also 20... it's a dull
age.

Scary Bear on 2001-11-26 10:17 [#00055648]

po{e}: Fair play mate, brought up on kraftwerk. You must
have fucking cool parents.

yeah I'm 17. I will be a fan for a year at christmas, when I
got windowlicker.

I must pick up some of this Kraftwerk and Plaid. Tell me of
these people. Do most of you rate these tunes?

The kize from glasgow on 2001-11-26 18:05 [#00055755]

In answer to the question "What else does he like?" -

The Tweenies, Bob the Builder and The Smurfs. - just
joking!!!!!

Also it is totally his choice what he listens to. It just
so happens that he inherited my musical genes!!!

kriStin from detroit on 2001-11-27 01:08 [#00055889]

i've been listening to richard for two years. my first
album was come to daddy. after that i was hooked. most of
my friends kind of wonder. especially one time when an
anti-drug commercial came on t.v. with '4' from the richard
d. james album in the backround. i was extatic and all my
friends were like "huh....?"

Scary Bear on 2001-11-27 01:19 [#00055892]

LABB: hehe, yeah I got Windowlicker last christmas as
well-first aphex cd. Was hooked after that, must admit it
got a lot better. ...Anyway to answer your question yes I
have seen the come to daddy video, but more importantly you
should know there is an awesome deal going on the Come To
Viddy (Three Aphex Twin Music Videos).

They are all good, one of them was directed by that ponse
Jarvis Cock sucker but he didn't mess it up thank god.

1.On
2.Donkey Rhubarb
3.Come to Daddy

If I remember rightly I got this video for £6 in HMV
London.
