I'm watching the Daytona 500 with my roomate right now, Dubya Bush himself is making an appearance as we speak, but just before during the "Proud to be an American" pre-race show, a guy on a fucking JETPACK (fucking rocketeer style) flew down and hovered a few (4-5) feet off the ground during a flyover by the airforce... it was insane. It seems like this could be the intended evolution of infantry fighting. He flew down quickly but steadily.. We think he might have been on the highest part of the stadium and flew down or something.. but he was pretty high up.

They've had them for (literally) years and they're (on earth at least) highly impractical for transport due to the rate at which they burn fuel.

man, I didn't think they were able to make them cool enough to keep them from overheating and exploading.. that sucks though about the fuel economy, but it makes obvious sense..
