I took some videos at the show here but the mic on my camera
got overloaded badly. And I didn't get the one song that I
want to hear again on video.

Well I don't really know how to describe it. All I can think
of is that it had a simple beat. It was fairly early in the
show and the song started with just high pitched beeps, 4/4
stuff. First 3 were the same pitch (roughly), 4th was a
little lower. He let that run for a little while and then
some pounding bass came in. The only thing I can think of
relating it to is the bass in Aphex Twin's D-Scape. Simple
and heavy. Then he picked up his bass and just kinda banged
it so it would make a sound.

It's been a week since the show so I can't really remember
if there was much of a melody, but I know the song stayed
fairly simple the whole time. He didn't press any of his
button to tweak the shit out of it. It was just a nice
relaxing song.

:/

heh. So I just read my description again (wouldn't mind
having an edit button) and it looks like I think the song is
simple. That's the key word.

I just wish I could find a bootleg somewhere so I can hear
it again.

Going to be uploading those anywhere? :D

Did he play Ultravisitor at your show? I thought it was
weird that he didn't play it here. I wonder how different
each set is.

yeah, cyg i looked for you but i didn't see you.

man, tom seriously knows how to put on a show. he's fucking
great. i was seriously hoping he would play journey to
reedham but when he closed his laptops after come on my
selector everyone gave up.

no, i don't think he did. and as a matter of fact the only
track i definately recognized off ultravisitor was
tetra-sync (i would have been so upset if hadn't played
it!!).

yes, the show was amazing. john, thanks again for treating
me to it. :)

my creative spark was definitely rekindled by the show,
rekindled into a fucking bonfire.

the only downside of the show were those goddamn strobes -
gave me a fucking headache.

I'll tell everyone here - if you have a chance to see
squarepusher, you would be wise to do so.

you're quite welcome.

those strobes certainly didn't help the headache i'd already
had!

i'll be looking forward to hearing some material that was
sparked by this. knowing in some small way i had a hand ;D

and i second that. if you have the chance to see
squarepusher, you really shouldn't pass it up, unless you
have a really good excuse--like your city was blown up, or
your goldfish had babies.

IMO.

kd i know the track you are talking about. it's actually
pretty close to one of the tracks off the stereotype ep. it
was the only new track i heard at the show.

we were sort of in the middle. someone offered me some
hydro, but one of those dickhead bouncers kept looking
directly at me so i couldn't find an opportunity to hit it.
i was pissed. but i thanked the guy for his offer.

It's funny how people say you can't dance to stuff like this
because one of the first things I noticed at the show is
that there's no way to stop people from dancing to
it.

whoever says that is a dumb mother fucker and doesnt know
what they are talking about

its these x'ed out emptyheads who wiggle push and jump to
every fucking sound that comes out of the speaker that can't
dance to stuff like this

what the fuck is with ravers

Beats me. All I did was nod my head and groove a bit. And I
had a huge grin on my face the whole time. Fuck it was rad
when he walked out and started Venus 17. I can't do anything
but smile in a situation like that... at least until some
fucking raver comes within inches of hitting me when he's
flailing his arms around.

i was there, zguru! i was wearing an aphex shirt, black with
white logo. there was someone else there wearing the exact
same though.
