I was listening to his album "Ghost of each room"(very good
album) and I was wondering if anyone in the forum knows if
he is going to release anything in the near future (solo or
with download etc). I have the distinct feeling that skinny
puppy were reunited for some gigs but I'm not sure. What
about Ogre? Is he planning anything?

yea Skinny Puppy is back together and has an album coming
out in April. It will be Cevin, Ogre and Mark Walk, who
co-writes/produces Ogre's solo stuff. Also Otto Von Schirac
appears on the album as well as someone from either Native
Instruments or one of the other big softsynth makers.

There will be another Download in the near future, with the
return of Mark Spybey from Dead Voices On Air who was on the
first few Download releases. The latest Cevin Key solo
album is called The Dragon Experience which is a
reediting/mastering of old material from the early 80s by
Ken Marshall.

were like tri repetae with a bit more edge. and...OGRE of
course. pretty good non the less.

It's Ogre. OhGr is just the name of that one particular solo
project of his. Everything else he does he does it as Ogre.
Nivek Ogre. I think his birthname is Kevin Ogilvie.

I won't dare assume everyone knows what I'm talking about.

And yes, I care. I care deeply.

download's "eyes of stanley pain" and

Ob La Di, Ob La Da, brutha!

The whole Skinny Puppy universe is such a jolly joy,
especially Tear Garden. God bless them for being prolific.

I wish there was a collaboration of Otto von Schirach with
Download... Btw is Nivek Ogre and Mark Walk through with
ohGr?

That could be extremely awesome. I like that effect download
uses (I don't know how) where it sounds like a possessed
haunting vocals, like 2 people talking at once in exactly
the same way but different decreasing pitch or something.
They've used that on ren and stimpy sometimes, like the
"...space...madness..." episode.

Download had quite advanced percussions for their time
(especially in t.e.o.s.p. that was released in 1996 I
think... for instance the first track "suni c") .... but
otto von schirach is the craziest beat programmer around....
I wonder what he wil be doing on the skinny puppy record...
Now that I come to think of it cevin keys work is quite up
to date too...

no they arent through with ohGr.

everyones respective projects will continue from what is
being said.

What I really like about download (and skinny puppy) is
their use of tons of textures... their sound is extremely
thick. Still I wasn't crazy about "effector".

Otto is the craziest beat programmer around. He makes
squarepusher look like mouldy crouton.

Yeah, download's eosp is not only fantastic sounding
(advanced) even for our current time, but the whole thing
has an emotional architecture behind it, not just a
technical. And a wicked evil emotional architecture at that.
The panning and sound is amazing. And track 4 sounds like
the theme song to satan or something.

"rockin the town like a mouldy crouton!"

Have you listened to cevin keys stuff? "The ghost of each
room" was quite good too and had a sonic richness similar to
download. I like the way he composes music. His stuff sound
organic but cold and mechanic in the bottom.
