Ok, so I need to figure out how to record audio into cubase
using guitar/keyboard into the M-audio Ozone which then goes
into my computer.. I can't get any audio to record into
cubase.. Am i missing some kind of hardware/cables or are my
settings in cubase what is wrong?

Make sure you don't have the lines set to mute in the mixer.
I haven't used the Ozone though...so I don't know if it is
different.

do you have something by m-audio then, or just a totally
different interface?

A friend has one but I have never used it...I just assume
that the audio interface is just like a standard USB audio
interface in which case make sure if you go into the VST
Multitrack in the Device Setup window that you have the
interface enabled etc etc. (I use SX but I think SL will be
pretty much the same)

devices > device setup:
---------------------------
Default MIDI Ports > MIDI Input = Ozone

VST Mulitrack > ASIO driver = Ozone

ok i went to the ASIO setup in cubase and it turns out my
sblive was still active and ozone was inactive, so i
switched them, and tested the ozone and it had like 31
syncing errors so obviously the test failed... now what?

Is your system powerful enough to handle audio from the
ozone? USB audio is processor hungry and unless you have a
powerful enough system that can happen.

The only other option is changing the uffer size and
suffering from horrible latency.

I dunno, you tell me.

here's my system specs:
P4 2.4ghz with 533mhz FSB
512mb pc3200 DDR ram
Radeon 9500 Pro
Soundblaster live and now M-audio Ozone.. My computer should
be alright, right?

ok i checked that, and now nothing records at all, whereas
before there would at least be a black bar where i was
"recording" even though no sound would play back

Are you still using the SBLive as the output and just the
Ozone as the input? Also set it to sync to the output
channel and not the input one and see if that works.

"set it to sync to the output channel and not the input one
and see if that works."

ok i tried recording into windows sound recorder just as a
test.. and I was able to record some guitar that sounded
very shitty quality wise, but more imporantly was playing
what I had recorded at a lower pitch! I have no idea how
this is even possible... fuck

I'm really not sure how the Ozone works. If I get a chance
tomorrow I will call round to my mates and find out some
shit about it. If you are still stuck I might be able to
help then.
