whenever i use an instrument like any kind of string, the
sound always keeps echoing on through the entire track, even
after the pattern is 'gone'. this happens when i leave the
settings on default but i've also tried changing the
envelope settings but i dont know too much about all that.

as i just tried asking this on soulseek, i would kindly ask
everyone to refrain from comments such as 'fruityloops is
homosexual and for real amateurs' because i am indeed an
amateur and happen to like the software very much.

sounds like it is going through another audio channel and is
delaying. have you checked all the channel mixers for
signals?

in the instrument property window theres a number in the top
left corner showing what audio channel its send to. open the
audio channel window where you can set the addtional fx and
check the channel your instrument is set to for delay/echo
fx.

Sequence the synths (and everything else for that matter) in
piano roll and set the desired length. Boom.
