in reykjavik in a club called Kapital Steve Beckett (owner of warp) and his brother Ned Beckett(official warp dj) presented us with old, new and unreleased material from warp. i've never gotten the chance to hear my favourite IDM tunes on a loud system in a club. It was a wonderful experience. It was funny when Ned played the difficult drill'n'bass stuff, expecially the end of Bucephalus Bouncing Ball. Most of the people didn't know what to do, and just stopped dancing. i was loving it and danced like crazy! the tunes that i recognized and rocked my socks off: squarepusher: do you know squarepusher unknown (with crowd noises like on UV) wish you could talk my red hot car journey to reedham aphex: 56 cymru beats bucephalus bouncing ball stone in focus windowlicker mangle 11 (circuit bent v.i.p. mix) z-twig flim he also played the color of the fire (BoC) and a few acidy luke vibert tunes i didn't quite recognize, but i'm sure it was his stuff. there were so many squarepusher and aphex classics! :) |
