saw ii and the minimalism i make

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 09:14 [#00060468]

right now i finished my second minimistic track and to
celebrate i am listening to saw ii. i have only heard saw
ii three times and loved it. prior to making my minimalism
music i had not listened to saw ii in about 2 weeks.
i am not very good at making music but i do enjoy it. i
also enjoy aphex twin very much. i try to take my favorite
parts of aphex twin music and make it to how i would enjoy
it the most. i really the melodys from saw 85-92. i made
an entire cd of fractal based music of what i think are
great melodies.
now, i know that people are going to rip on me for copying
aphex, but i don't care. i make music so i can enjoy it.
and, to the people who said they would like to hear the
minimalist track i made, sorry i wont post it.
i wont post the track because i do not want critism. i do
want people to say"hey that sounds exactly like aphex, why
dont you get some talent and try to be original." but the
minimal track just ended up sounding like something aphex
would make and it makes me even happyer that way. i put
alot of time (8 solid hours non-stop) into making the track
and i do not want someone saying anything bad about. i
would want to hear good things about it.
so if you want to hear my track e-mail me and i will it mail
it to you.
if you do not enjoy it, dont tell me. if you do, tell me
and also tell me what you liked.

now about the track.
the first track has a sample i created from scratch. it
sounds like a pulsating generator. but it is dynamic so
some degree.
it also has a very subtle melody that you barely hear. it
was made with a midi based fractal music program. the sound
is a accoustic grand piano. i spent hours just getting the
perfect reverb.
the last sound is a ticking noise. it adds some nice
ambience to the song. i spent quite a while getting the
timing right and the reverb right.
the second track i made only took me 4 hours to make. it is
quite simple.
the first part is an ambient sample i found on the net quite
awhile ago. i slowed it down. it was 4 seconds long. i
stretched and pitch shifted it to 30. the sample was that
of sounds in a park.
the second sample is me reciting a poem i made. i ran that
through the music part of cool edit studio at -2 octave. it
turned into a super cool whispering growling thing. i added
reverb.
the third part is the second half of the poem. for some
reason the music part made each half completely different.
i has the same reverb as the first half.
i tried many different fractal based melodies but they took
away from the track, so there is no meleody.
i think the first track i made is fantastic. i think my
second track is good.
so, if you truly are interested in my tracks i will email
them to you. i do want to hear someones positive opinions on
them. nobody has heard them but my self.

an addition
i have 2 gigs in music and samples is created. i no prior
music experience. i do not consider myself talented at the
least bit. i have been making music for nearly a year. i
have heard alot of music by the people who post here and
they are very talented.

oh yeah, if somebody loves me very much could you make a
sample of yourself or someone whispering things, i have no
microphone. and a sample of cutlery and various other metal
things being dropped. i would love so much. i have some
really good ideas for tracks that revolve around those
samples.
i like cookies.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 10:08 [#00060487]

this is bizarre. i am really nervous. my feet and palms are
sweating. nobody has heard my music before and i am nervous
about what yall will think about it.
i am uploading the second track now, so i will email the
link.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-13 10:12 [#00060489]

Haha, I can't wait! The only thing I have on the net that
involves personal creation is a stupid picture I drew, and
I
got so nervous when people would go see it. I don't like
criticism either.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 10:18 [#00060491]

i dont mind critism, but this is my first time i let anyone
hear my music. it makes me nervous because i spent so much
time on it and i really enjoy the tracks. im afraid that if
i get critisized that the music i made will lose its magic.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 10:20 [#00060492]

did you get my email, ophecks? if you did you download them
now so you tell tell what you think.
oh yeah, i have been wondering, what does ophecks mean? i
have been curious for quite awhile but keep forgetting to
ask.

Korben Dallas from www.mp3.com/polcXd on 2001-12-13 10:22 [#00060493]

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-13 10:23 [#00060494]

Uh oh, the links don't work!

*smashes head against wall

I really wanted to hear those.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-13 10:24 [#00060496]

Ophecks is just like Aphex! Pretty straightforward. I
usually call myself Revolverjgw on the net, but not here,
for some reason.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 10:25 [#00060497]

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-12-13 10:26 [#00060498]

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-12-13 10:30 [#00060499]
