I feel light headed... and light-walleted.. :-)

Unfortunately my business partner knows I was getting it so
I can't play sick tomorrow and play with it so I'll just
have to... not sleep!

Thanks! I won't feel like a real man until I've programmed
my own monster ensemble though... time to start working my
way through the documentation.

Raw power indeed - ya know I'm always pleasantly surprised
when legit software performs a lot better than the pirated
stuff.

I HAVES THE BRANE SKANNER!!!!!!!1111111111

Yaknow by the time you have programmed your own ensemble, by
that time the ensemble will be outta fashion! Use presets
and add effects. Rinse twice. Add salt to taste.

Geesh the documentation is a bit uneven - it was fine until
I got to the but about building your first synth, then it
seemed to be a combination of text and images from different
versions or something. If I hadn't already done the online
tutorial I'd be pulling my hair out right about now.

Please give me the address of the online tutorial or I will
die. My life is in your hands now.

the online tutorial is at Native Instruments???!?!?!

Whoda thunkit!?

The online tutorial really only covers making a simple
subtractive synth - but it's a start. I'm downloading some
user ensembles to get an idea for what people are doing. I'm
going to stick to messing with analog/subtractive type
things for now, then look into the sampler and sequencer
modules later...

The instruments that come with it seem made to impress the
hell out of you, not to be especially practical - some of
them eat CPU like crazy and fill up all your frequencies, so
you don't necessarily want to use them in a track.

One thing I've noticed is, the skeletons for pretty much
everything NI's released are here - certainly you can do
Absynth, Pro-53, Kontakt and Intakt kinda things just using
instruments other people have made... it's like they've
handed you their synth prototyping parts in a shoebox and
said "Here, knock yourself out".

It's a Lego kit for sound architecture - as opposed to
Max/MSP, which from what I've gathered, is like they hand
you the raw ingredients for plastic, and blueprints for a
Lego block factory. :D

Using only Reaktor I accidently developed a cure for cancer
which I promptly deleted as I was getting some high end
crackle through the left channel.

Akkording to NI naming konventions that should be Kure for
Kancer.

You should undelete the ensemble and reinstall your sound
kard drivers. That might fix the krakle.

Me and NI have fallen out...so much so that I now refuse to
use any of thir products with the exception of about 10
exceptions.

Ten pirated exceptions? =)

I'm just fiddling about with an ensemble that emulates the
Octave Kitten - it really does sound like the samples I've
heard of that synth. Hardly uses any CPU either.

I'm using it to make effects ensembles at the moment, it's
real got some real nice stuff to mess around wth.

No, a female has some real nice stuff to mess around
with...Reaktor has CPU hungry shite that refuses to play
nicely.

True, a women has nice bits to mess around with.

True, Reaktor is cpu hungry.

But i only use to proces samples with which promptly get
transfered to wav files. So no loss for me really.

Reaktor is a vampire that will drink your lifeforce like an
American drinks a milkshake.

But already I can see you can do things with this easily
that would take days or weeks or *forget it* with other
tools. Especially with the live machines - I just spent the
evening with GoBox and my brain is fried. I'll be happy to
go to work programming tomorrow to give my mind a rest. :D

GoBox refuses to work for me. I am only just getting into
working with rendered samples (previously I have been
sequencing everything without the use of audio samples)
which I think will enable me to use Reaktor a lot more for
doing stuff.

That sucks - GoBox is one of the coolest things that ships
with Reaktor. Get a license you cheapskate! :D

This thing totally kicks me in the fuck. Checking out the
Reaktor user forum at Native Instruments, I see that some
people have given up their lives to become Reaktor Monks.

BEST TOY EVAR
