I have to copy a lot of stuff from acrobat pdfs for my
research (using the text button) but when I paste it into
work each line of the paper is followed by a return and I
have to manually delete the return on each line. Is there a
way round this? Also is there a way to copy text when the
text button doesnt seem to work (some older pdfs)?

I'm not sure but I thought the point of Acrobat docs was to
stop people copying and pasting from them?

Search for and replace all the line break/paragraph marks
with a space. You can do this in Word.

As for the second problem... I have no idea.

@jazembo

i don't think that you can use the textfunc in older pdf
versions (also remeber that there are possibilities to make
them protected...probably you wanne paste text in a pdf
which doesn't allow this)

There must be some program that decodes old pdfs and
translates the image to text???

martinhm - Im not quite sure how to do that.
Do you go to replace then click paragraph while on the find
section? Im not sure how to select a line break though.

If you have Acrobat Professional 6.0, you can export the
text from the PDF document.

You may also want to look into a plug in suite by Enfocus
called Pitstop
