best radiohead track ever.
I read somewhere about how Yorke made that track in like 10 minutes by himself, and played it for the rest of the guys, and they were like.........are you fucking kidding?
Needless to say, they put it right on.
Best radiohead song in my opinion.

obviously, musically, it's not their best, but overall........
there's just no question. I mean, big band, everyone heard of 'em, who puts that shit on an album?
That voice, the melody whatever you call it. The story, it's just awesome.

"I read somewhere about how Yorke made that track in like 10
minutes by himself, and played it for the rest of the guys,
and they were like.........are you fucking kidding? "
i read... i think in an interview with mr yorke himself.... that the lyrics are the result of an email correspondence w/ a fan who had gotten hold of his email address...... they were sending each other (apparently sappy, depressing) poetic lines about how shitty modern life is, or whatever, and this built up to some length before he turned it into the lyrics for teh track.....

pink floyd actually used his voice for the song Keep Talking on Division Bell (their last album... 90s)..............
the thing is, they actually say its Stephen Hawkings voice.... they give him official credit
i wonder if they had him come into hte studio/recorded him saying it, or if they just used a computer that could make his voice
in that interview i mentioned Thom Yorke just said something like 'then i just had my trusty mac read it out to me'.... (all macs can read text documents back to you in that voice plus a few others) and never mentioned the pink floyd album...
its just weird that he would describe it so simply.... theres no way he could have put that on OK Computer without it occuring to him "gee, this exact same voice was used in the same way on a recent album by pink floyd.... which is like the only other time AMinal has ever heard (of) it being used"
looks like radiohead have a little explaining to do... they're obviously ripping off pink floyd, and mr hawking... THE MAN IS IN A WHEELCHAIR!!! you gutless THIEVES!!!! "just had my mac read it" indeed! that poor GENIUS sacrificed his body for our understanding of the universe... and mr "ooooh, im a struggling gentle moral man in a terrible evil world!! relate to my whinings, innocent teenage girl ruled by terrible terrorist-thief bush" comes along... and RIPS OFF both one of the most important rock bands and scientists of the century in ONE FOUL SWOOP!!!!!!
FUCK YOU THOM YORKE!!!!!!!!!

are you suggesting that professor stephen hawking made a pact with god/the devil? agreeing to lose the use of his body to a degenerative motorneurone disease in exchange for the secrets of the universe?
..i'm convinced

i always suspected that stephen hawking was just a front; a mask for a super computer who became self-aware and wanted to avoid destruction by a.i. fearing humans.
