clobeSmith on 2001-04-27 05:22 [#00004801]

everytime i go dvd shopping i always almost get it. i saw
it when i was real young and i remember it just freaking the
hell out of me. come to think of it, a lot of the things
i'm into now are the type of things that freaked me out at a
younger age. hmm ... funny how that worked out.

yeah, i need that movie in my dvd collection.

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-27 05:31 [#00004802]

clobsmith:...[spelling of name?] well whatever.

here are some awsome movies you may already have!!

1. Jacobs Ladder
2. Pic
3. Run Lola Run
4. Requim For A Dream
5. Doom Generation
6. 4 Rooms
7. Fear And Lothing In Las Vegas

clobeSmith on 2001-04-27 05:54 [#00004804]

i love all of these flicks. i haven't seen pic (or do you
mean pi?). i was fortunate enough to see run lola run in
the theatre, as well as requiem for a dream. my friends
have been trying to get me to see 4 rooms, but things come
up and all that hogwash. jacob's ladder was why i got a
pager, to put that quote on my greeting message (... afraid
of death/demons tearing your life away, made your peace,
demons are really angels freeing you from the earth --
brilliant, just brilliant)

(now it's my turn)

1. eraserhead
2. american movie
3. lain (anime series, very good if you like anime)
4. dead man
5. yojimbo (and hell, sanjuro too)

there's so much out there ... man, that's why i did that
"films and movies" post last week.

Deceptikon from www.tiny-pixel.com on 2001-04-27 09:23 [#00004821]

1. Jacobs Ladder - I agree.
2. Pic - Never heard of it... I'll look it up.
3. Run Lola Run - Entertaining, but I didn't think it had
much substance.
4. Requim For A Dream - YES! A modern classic.
5. Doom Generation
6. 4 Rooms - It was kind of funny, but... nothing
special.
7. Fear And Lothing In Las Vegas - Another great film.

Deceptikon from www.tiny-pixel.com on 2001-04-27 09:24 [#00004822]

The film "Nowhere" is good too. It was directed by the same
guy who did Doom Generation (Gregg Araki.) You both should
check it out.

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-27 15:05 [#00004838]

rubbish john from a fishtank on 2001-04-27 15:29 [#00004847]

i love jacob's lader. it's the bollox.
not seen this 'doom generation' though, sounds completely
insane - oooooh.
how about 'lost highway' for a total headfuk of a film?

clobeSmith on 2001-04-27 15:44 [#00004854]

i saw lost highway with a bunch a friends while \"under the
influence.\" i can\'t even begin to explain what that movie
did to me. it\'s surprisingly hard to find to rent and buy
around here. well, honestly, i haven\'t really tried ...
but i am now

[REFLEX] from Canada on 2001-04-27 16:38 [#00004861]

The lost highway is good, i own it.. its easy to findhere in
canada, it really makes no sense. as Ive tried to figure it
out many times... and everyitime i try and come close to a
conclusion it just doesnt make sense.. if anyone truly
understands this movie.. to the fullest extent.. then tell
me

confused earlier why I couldn't find any info about a movie

I liked it. It's one of my favorite "B" movies. But make no
mistake, it is cheesy as hell. Don't go in looking for a
beautiful work of art. The soundtrack is good. I believe the
first scene opens with "Heresy" by Nine Inch Nails.

Also Skinny Puppy fans might be interested to know that
cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre actually make a cameo appearance in
the film. When Jordan and Amy are in the car and two guys
start fighting outside, that's Puppy. Ogre says [i]Wake up,
Cocksucker. Time to die!"[/i] (obviously a reference to
Blade Runner)

God damn this is an old thread, before my time even.

I just bought nowhere on VHS for 25$ ... i love gregg araki
and the teen apocolypse trio, but his new movie smiley face
was complete garbage.
I wonder what james Duval is doing right now....

gregg arakis movies are funny and transparent excuses to
promote the virtues of non monogomy.
